It seems that those silly people down under are getting a little too carried away with this whole social media thing, that is if a new study from Sydney-based company Tick Yes has any validity.

It seems that this social media marketing company (which should immediate raise the hair on the back of your neck) surveyed some 885 Australians about their social media habits and came away with some pretty interesting findings. Well interesting to them I guess from a “marketing” point of view anyway.

To give you a bit of an idea of the <ahem> results here is some tidbits in descending order.

• 51.6% access social media at work
• 41.9% while watching TV
• 34% on holiday
• 33.8% in bed
• 23.3% during meals
• 14.8% while shopping
• 21.5% in the bathroom
• 3.2% in a place of worship
• 2.8% (64% of them men) ‘during intimate moments’

Ya. so it seems that some idiots out there will stop what they are doing with a partner and check out what their Twitter stream or Facebook wall is saying.

Okay let me be the first one to say this … if you stop sharing a delightfully intimate moment with your partner then you are a great big loser. Really. Loser.

There is no other way to put it.

Loser.

Here’s a couple more take away points from the survey:

• 48.2% use social media to talk about a new purchase (56% of them women)
• 25.5% have used social media to contact a company for customer service or to ask a question
• 48.7% of people say their social media usage has increased in the last year
• 4.9% of people admit to being ‘addicted’ to social media, while 31.3% spend at least two hours a day on it

Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go out and get a few boxes of salt.

A friend of the family told People that “The family was totally excited. Graciella’s wonderful. Everybody was happy about it.”

Bryan wore a Marc Jacobs suit to the event, while the bride wore Carolina Herrera. Squeee! It sure beats Wal-Mart.

Recently captured on camera without their wedding rings, JLo and Marc have already issued a denial that their marriage is troubled. Their publicist claimed that “they’re doing great,” and Jennifer put the ring back on to shut us up.

That still doesn’t explain why a source claimed to have heard Marc complaining about Jennifer while putting his hands on a mystery woman last week, or why their $8.5 million home– in which they were wed in 2004– is rumored to be up for sale. People say the home is for sale because they’re moving to the Big Apple and not because they hate each other, but these things do add up pretty nicely. 

One question for Jennifer: what does her assistant look like, and can she be trusted? ‘Cause you know all signs point to doing it with “the help,” and not with random groupies (if Mr. Anthony has any, that is). Sorry JLo!

Lindsay Lohan clearly didn’t have enough to do this weekend, since she made her way onto the Facebook group discussion entitled “Not Breaking Up” to say that she’s still with her flame. Posting under her pseudonym “Bella,” she left a particularly pithy response:

“Tabloids and people tell lies- they always wanna see everything and anything good come to an end. duh.”

Honestly, guys aren’t going to give up on the ideas of catfights and man jealousy so fast if Lindsay doesn’t dispel rumors throughly. Why respond if it’s going to be like this? She’s rivaling Rosie in the brevity department.

Sam was always the eloquent one in the relationship. I’d like to see her take a stab at the rumors!

Lindsay Lohan has been a bit wild lately, and to top it off, she was facing rumors that her relationship was on the rocks this week. The New York Post reported earlier that the girls are going into couples therapy and that “‘They fight every day, screaming, crying and yelling at each other.’” Lindsay was a drama magnet and Sam couldn’t take it anymore, which sounded plausible until OK! revealed a friend’s take on the deal.

OK! reported yesterday that Linds and Sam are planning on hanging out with Samantha’s family for an extended holiday break, and things are going well. In fact, one of their friends supposedly said that “As long as everyone’s together, it doesn’t matter where they go.” Hmmm, who to believe?

Furthermore, what will happen when they come back from vaca? Faux paradise only lasts so long.

I thought that Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil was enthusiastic about taking down her panties and all that? It looks like the romantic, fuzzy feelings are not entirely mutual between Blake and Amy: an interesting report from the Daily Mirror claims that this “sex starved” singer been “phoning and texting” 16-year-old X-Factor contestant Eoghan Quigg. Supposedly she’s been thinking about divorcing Blake, and is taking time off to cool her heels with the show’s youngest finalist:

But a source close to Amy confirmed she was first in touch with the impressionable youngster on Wednesday. And since then her calls and texts have been persistent.

The insider said: “Amy wants to meet him whether he wins or loses. She’s a massive fan and thinks he’s cute.”

The emphasis may be mine, but the damage has been done! Amy Winehouse had a crazy night out last week, where she was seen racing through rubbish heaps and searching for Blake, and it looks like Mr. Eoghan might be along for the ride. According to the insider, he’s “up for it.”

Amy’s not the mother of all bad influence, but she’s got to be in the top 10.
