One of the things I liked about living out west in Canada was that they have Denny’s restaurants and while I wouldn’t want to go there for anything remotely resembling fine dining it was a great place to go for coffee and a quick breakfast, although I’m not sure that I’d line up for their latest heart attack offering.

Apparently the restaurant chain is updating their value meals menu items and in the process bringing the famous cheese laden Fried Cheese Melt. Now that might sound rather innocuous but once you start reading the ingredients you might want to make an appointment with your cardiologist.

Yes folks, you can now order a sandwich that contains four fried mozzarella sticks and melted American cheese stuffed between two slices of sourdough bread, which is then served with an order of french fries and marina sauce.

Of course we all know that no matter how good that might sound the actual sandwich will never look as good or possibly similar to the one in the image above.

There are times that you know that what you are eating is not good for you but you don’t care. Case in point was the KFC Double Down where the bun of the sandwich was actually two chicken breasts. Well as you can see below the KFC offering can step aside because Denny’s is bringing you the Fried Cheese Melt.

Yes folks, that is the ultimate Grilled Cheese sandwich where you will find a side of fries served along side four fried mozzarella sticks wrapped by a typical grilled cheese sandwich.

Cooper’s Hill Cheese Rolling – Broken limbs incoming

Last Monday the annual Cooper’s Hill Cheese-Rolling and Wake was held near Gloucester, England. The cheese roller tradition is more than 200 years old, som even say it’s a pagan healing ritual. You have to be pretty healing to notice the healing powers of running down a steep hill.

Traditionally the race is for the local villagers, but now people from all over the world come to Gloucester to catch and win the 8 lb. Double Gloucester cheese.
