The 36-year-old crooner confessed he was confused about “why people would want pictures of me” (the book is two-thirds pictures, one-third prose). In the end, he was urged to finish the book by his manager, who felt it was a chance for Buble to let people know who he was:

“The way (my manager) talked me into it was he said, ‘Listen, kid, you always complain that people don’t who you really are … Why don’t you go do this thing, do the photos, and you can tell your fans a little bit about what you’re thinking. Who Michael Buble is. The good, the bad.’”

Yes, the bad. Despite the fact he deals in innocent, middle-of-the-road pop fluff, we shouldn’t be fooled by this nicey-nice image. Apparently, bad boy Buble has a temper on him, and tells Jam! about a “verbal run-in” with an Irish lawyer in his hotel bar the previous night.

Onstage Offstage is something of a confessional then, with Buble noting:

“Let me own up to this stuff. How am I going to get better if I don’t own up to this stuff?”

The book hits stores Tuesday, though apparently doesn’t cover much of Buble’s relationship with British actress Emily Blunt, which ended in 2008. If you want to help brave, bad Buble face up to his temper issues, you could buy it, maybe.

Harry Belafonte is releasing a memoir, ‘My Song,’ that reflects on his life, career, and involvement in activism.

The 84-year-old actor and musician is not only remembered for his various 1950s chart-toppers (he was the first African-American to win an Emmy), but also his role in pursuing racial justice. His success in music allowed Belafonte to give financial support to Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement in the 1960s.

Belafonte’s memoir will be released alongside a new biographical documentary from HBO. ‘Sing Your Song’ is, according to the man himself, “meant to pass on information to those who are interested in the history of that period [1955-1968]. [The film’s] purpose is to instruct and to inspire. We hope people find what we have to say interesting.”

Belafonte certainly knows that period better than most. The singer was a confidant to Martin Luther King Jr., and was active in the Freedom Riders, which organized the pivotal March on Washington.

More recently, Belafonte has been a scathing critic of the George W. Bush Administration (“By most definitions, Bush can be considered a terrorist”), and has voiced his support for the Americans behind the Occupy Wall Street movement. At a private screening of ‘Sing Your Song’ on Tuesday, Belafonte told AFP:

“I think that what they are doing is critical and necessary. A lot of people have asked what happened to the current generation. I think [the younger generation] have awakened to that question and talked to the world at large. We’re lucky we got ‘em.”

Samantha Ronson’s planning a memoir, according to E!, and Michael Lohan is soooo pissed about it. But why should he be? Since Sam’s been around enough celebs in her lifetime, surely the whole thing won’t be about Lindsay.

Or maybe it will be:

“Insiders told E! that Ronson is telling pals she plans to write a book about her life. ‘Well, she’s certainly telling friends she’s planning to write a book,’ the source says. ‘It’s supposed to be about her, allegedly. But come on, you know Lindsay will be all over that book. She’s the only one people want to read about.’”

What, you don’t want to read the book for her pithy descriptions of wealthy London existence? Or vivid accounts of brother Mark Ronson’s shenanigans? Me neither: bring on the dirt!
