Seems like the holidays make honest men out of celebrities. First Justin Timberlake, and now Mario Lopez. The 38 year-old Extra host and previously rumored ladies man tells Us Weekly that he’s ready to make an honest woman out of 28 year-old Courtney Mazza.

“We took a walk alone as the sun was setting,” said Lopez. “I told Courtney that I wanted the mother of my children to have their last name. She was silent at first from shock, then she leaped for joy and did a little jete!”

The couple, who publicly opened their homes to audiences with their VH1 reality show, Saved By the Baby, are the proud parents of 2 year-old Gia” Their next adventure as a couple will take place next year when they plan to wed in Mexico.

Mazza, who’s usually the silent half of the couple said, “Besides our daughter’s birth, this was the best moment of my life!”

For those who are worried that this commitment will take a hit to Lopez’s career, fear not.  In the last few years the Saved By the Bell alumi has  appeared on Broadway in A Chorus Line and has hosted numerous shows including, America’s Next Dance Crew,  Miss Teen USA, Miss America, and in 2006 even danced his way to the top on Dancing With The Stars, where he met and dated his dance partner, Karina Smirnoff.

This isn’t the first time Mario Lopez has made it down the aisle. In 2004 he made headlines when he married Doritos girl, Ali Landry, also in Mexico. Two weeks later the couple annulled the marriage due to infidelities on Lopez’s part.

John Legend is engaged. Legend, the voice behind songs such as ’Ordinary People,’ has got engaged to Chrissy Teigen after popping the question to the 26-year-old model in the Maldives. Legend’s rep Cindi Berger confirmed:

“John Legend and his girlfriend, model Chrissy Teigen, got engaged over the holidays while vacationing in the Maldives.”

Legend and Teigen have been in a relationship with for over four years, and spent the entire Christmas period with one another. After leaving the Maldives, the couple flew to Thailand to spend time with the Teigen’s parents and sister (Teigen is of Thai-Norwegian descent).

There’s no further information yet about the proposal or the wedding plans, but Twitter tells us Teigen intends to take Legend’s last name … which sadly isn’t ‘Legend’ (it’s Stephens, booo). The model retweeted the following from a fan …

“thats y celeb marriage nvr wrk out. U nt taking his lst name shows u think ur brand is more important than the marriage”

… and wrote the following in a reply to one inquiry:

“Not that I wouldn’t take his last name — just that it isn’t Legend.”

From the sounds of it, the couple are already practicing their domestic skills:

“Did another vacation cooking class! This one wasn’t quite as interactive – everything was already chopped and measured and chopping is pretty much our favorite thing ever. Pad Thai, Panang curry, and som tum, or papaya salad.”

Legend, 32, will perform at The Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve.

With Britney Spears and Jason Trawick officially announcing their engagement it was only a matter of time before the pop star’s ex-husband Kevin Federline chimed in.

According to Federline, 33, his ex-wife (they divorced in 2006) is in a “good place” and he adds “She’s Happy.”

Kevin goes on to tell Australia’s TV Week magazine:

“She’s doing really well … [The engagement] is a good step in the right direction. I’m totally happy for her.”

Federline continued his compliments by noting that under her care both Preston, 6, and Jayden, 5, are doing well in school and that her new fiancé is a welcomed addition for the family.

“I think he’s a great guy,” Federline says. “The kids speak highly of him. Her family loves him.”

In a surprising admission he also told People that his heart was “torn to pieces” by his ex-wife’s public meltdown and continuing struggle that lasted very publicly for several years before her father Jamie Spears took control of her estate and Jason Trawick stepped in to help get her life back on schedule.

With her finances in order and being closely monitored, along with a comeback steadily moving forward Spears appears to be getting back to her pre-meltdown level of fame, throw in what appears to be a solid relationship with her ex-husband and it looks like the days of crazy Britney may be over for a while.

Rumor has it that Britney Spears is getting ready to marry boyfriend Jason Trawick.

Multiple sources have revealed to TMZ that Jason was planning to pop the question on Thursday night in Las Vegas.

Apparently the engagement proposal isn’t a surprise and Spears has known for a while that Jason wants to get married and is ready to ask for her hand in marriage.

The marriage proposal has also been given the stamp of approval by Britney’s conservators and it’s believed the judge in the conservatorship will also give a stamp of approval.

In further Trawick news it turns out he chose the old fashioned route, asking Jamie Spears for his daughters hand in marriage.

According to sources there will most definitely be a prenup involved with the marriage.

Hugh Hefner and his much younger fiance Crystal Harris will be married this June at the Playboy Mansion and Hefner will not have his fiance, 60 years his junior, sign a prenuptial agreement.

Hefner has been married and divorced two times, but at 84-years-old he has decided it isn’t worth the headache to jump through legal hoops for the girl he “loves.”

According to insiders, Hef has no intention of protecting his $43 million fortune (estimated). Those same insiders say Hefner “actually cares” for Crystal, even as she pals around town with Jordan McGraw, son of Dr. Phil and wife Robin. The McGraw relationship was reported by In Touch Weekly last month with the magazine claiming that an illicit romance was brewing between the age appropriate couple.

Jordan McGraw is a sound specialist who Crystal says is simply helping her “break into the music industry,” because Hefner and his close ties to hundreds of music industry folks couldn’t possibly do a better job….

The ex-Mr. Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown, proposed to his longtime girlfriend and manager Alicia Etheridge on stage at a concert in Jacksonville’s Metro Park on Friday night.

Brown was playing a show for Funk Fest when his girlfriend of three years (and mother to his 11-year-old son Cassius, who was present on stage, too) joined him. Attendees say that Brown then got down on one knee and asked Etheridge to marry him in front of excited fans:

Paul and Carol Pearsall, who lives on the Westside, said the proposal was shocking, as Brown got down on one knee to ask for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage.

“We shouted, we screamed,” Carol Pearsall said. “We supported him.”

“Hopefully he’ll get it right this time,” her husband quipped.

Pearsall was referring to Brown’s ill-fated marriage to troubled singer Whitney Houston. The marriage lasted 15 years and produced one child, Bobbi Kristina, who is now 17-years-old. The pair took part in a reality show titled Being Bobby Brown in the earlier part of the decade that openly showed the couple’s marital troubles and struggles with substance abuse.

Houston spoke during promotions for her most recent album last year about the end of her troubled marriage to Bobby Brown:

“He was my drug,” Houston, 46, said. “I didn’t do anything without him. I wasn’t getting high by myself. It was me and him together, and we were partners, and that’s what my high was — him. He and I being together, and whatever we did, we did it together. No matter what, we did it together.”

In addition to baby Cassius and Bobby Kristina, Brown has three other children from previous relationships. The marriage to Etheridge will be his second.

Soulja Boy, who is a frequent Tweeter, was rumored yesterday to be engaged to model Rosa Acosta.

Citing a “close friend” of the rapper, Media Takeout posted yesterday that a close friend of Soulja Boy claims the pair are engaged. Although Soulja Boy tends to update his nearly 1.6 million Twitter followers on the details of his life regularly, he did not mention an engagement via microblog. He did, however, tweet this yesterday:

…which appears to be a denial that he is, in fact, engaged. However, celebrities have been known to conceal this information in the past. As of now? Not confirmed.

I thought that Scarlett had said that she was going to delay the wedding already, but a source has clarified that it’s definitely penciled in post-November. NOW mag brought us the dirt:

‘Ryan has been wanting to marry Scarlett for some time and was thrilled when they got engaged in May,’ a source tells the Daily Express. ‘He’d marry her if he could tomorrow if he could but Scarlett’s twin Hunter is really busy working on Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. He’s working all the time so Scarlett wants to hold off until the election is over.’

Sigh. It’s just unfortunate that I can’t get worked up over their wedding after Scarlett totally killed it by yammering on about monogamy for the third year in a row. We get it– we did in 2006, in fact– and now all I see is a ticking clock for her and Ryan. Could she really settle down?
