After five months of dating and being spotted together at various public hot spots Leonardo DiCaprio and Gossip Girl partner Blake Lively have called it quits.

According to insiders the famous “modelizer” called it quits with Blake, 24, but what caused the split has not been revealed.

The publicist for Leonardo DiCaprio, 36, says the former couple “remain friends.”

The couple were first spotted together in Monte Carlo aboard Steven Spielberg’s private Yacht and then stepped out at the Cannes Film Festival together in May.

Blake and Leo started dating just a few short months after he ended his relationship with Sports Illustrated model bar Refaeli. Their whirlwind summer romance took them to Italy, Australia, California and New York.

I give Leonardo DiCaprio two, maybe three months tops before he has another super hot model/actress on his arm.

Lea Michele is one of the biggest names in television at the moment and she’s also newly single. Michele’s rep confirmed on Tuesday that the actress has broken up with boyfriend Theo Stockman.

According to her rep in a statement to E! News:

“This is not a dramatic breakup, the relationship just ran its course,” while adding, “They are still friends and will always be friends.”

The couple were firsts spotted together in 2010 at the Time 100 Most Influential People Gala in New York City where they reportedly made out the entire night and ignored reporters. At the time of their “hookup” Lea drew a bunch of bad press because she was viewed by young TV watchers as a role model.

Theo has been etching out an acting career of his own, taking the stage in the uber-popular Green Day hit musical American Idiot and also appearing in some bit roles on 30 Rock and HBO’s Nurse Jackie.

News of the couples breakup shouldn’t surprise too many of Lea’s fans considering she showed up to the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday without Leo at her side.

X-Factor judge Simon Cowell will remain an eligible bachelor after calling of his engagement to fiancee Mezhgan Hussainy.

Over the last several months the couple has barely been seen together and a tipster now tells The Daily Mail:

“Simon and Mezhgan split up in August. He called it off and she wasn’t that surprised or even very bothered about it. Mezhgan told her friends she knew it had been coming for a while. She offered him the ring back but he has insisted she keep it.”

The source says Simon has started dating again but remains very generous with his ex-fiance as he has with other ex-girlfriends.

The breakup shouldn’t surprise anyone, earlier in the month Simon appeared on Howard Stern and seemed unsure if he was still engaged, when asked if he still had a fiance he said “Not Sure.”

In any case the breakup is said to be amicable and Mezhgan is said to be living in Cowell’s “Girlfriend Graveyard” which is a $5 million Beverly Hills home that was last occupied by former Cowell girlfriend Terri Seymour.

In the meantime Simon’s new talent competition show X-Factor will debut on September 21 and September 22, giving him something completely new to focus on as his relationship comes to an end.

Tao Ruspoli and Olivia Wilde were official divorced recently after filing in February however the couple appear to remain close after recently spending some time together in Venice, California with a friend at Rose 76 restaurant.

No reason was given for their meetup, although sources close to the couple say they have remained friends following their divorce.

Wilde met her ex-husband at Burning Man festival in the Nevada Desert when she was just 18 and he was 26, they later married on a school bus and then lived in the bus to satisfy their unconventional bohemian lifestyle.

With such an unconventional marriage it shouldn’t surprise many fans of the actress to know she’s still friends with her ex, the type of friendship we often don’t see from Hollywood stars after their splits which are often marred with behind the back talking and rude Tweets about their former partners.

Since their separation Wilde has been linked to Ryan Gosling and Justin Timberlake.

On the other hand Wilde recently admitted that it’s hard adjusting to single life:

 ’The trauma of the [divorce] has been humbling. And for the first time, I’m a little wobbly. I’m a case of arrested development, in a way — from spending your 20s with someone who really loves to take care of you, as my husband did.”

For now their meetup is purely speculative but I’m going with the “just friends” theory.

When former Brady Bunch star Christopher Knight hooked up with former America’s Next Top Model winner Adrianne Curry it made for some interesting reality TV on the show The Surreal Life and then their own show My Fair Brady but now it looks like that life really was too surreal for the couple as they may be calling it quits on their five year marriage.

The breakup was confirmed by Knight’s manager Phil Viardo who said:

“After starting a relationship with what seemed to be irreconcilable differences, the couple has reached a period where those differences are no longer appreciated. The decision was mutually reached after it became clear to both that some perspective was needed in order to assess their unique union. Not unlike all marriages, work must be put in.

“Obvious to both Knight and Curry was that their marriage would require more effort then a garden-variety relationship. They are taking time to see if they want to continue to put in that extraordinary effort. The couple has mutually determined that they are at a place where moving forward will require a step back. They still love one another but need some distance to consider their future.”

So perhaps the couple isn’t done for good, however if there’s one thing I’ve learned from Hollywood relationships it’s that splits tend to end in divorces, which tend to end in another marriage following by another divorce and then the vicious cycle repeats itself.

Oscar winner Halle Berry has reportedly split from her boyfriend of five years, Gabriel Aubry.

Though the split has not been confirmed by reps for the pair, it is rumoured that the couple have spent the past few weeks hammering out a parenting plan for their daughter, Nahla. Berry is twice divorced- the actress divorced second husband Eric Benét in 2005 after reports he was unfaithful unsurfaced, and was previously wed to baseball player David Justice, a marriage that ended in 1997 amid allegations he was abusive to her.

While reports have said that the nine-year age difference influenced Aubry to leave Berry, other rumors indicate that the actress was concerned her partner might “go after her money.” And although the couple never married, the relationship lasted longer than both of Berry’s previous marriages. Berry reflected on that in an interview last year:

“I feel more married now than I did in any of my actual marriages,” she told the March 2009 issue of Essence. “We live the truth of that and that’s more important than a piece of paper.”

Berry was spotted out last night in New York at a benefit and was said to be in “good spirits.”

Stop crying, now: Paris Hilton has revealed that she’s just on a break with Benji Madden, and that they didn’t split for good. Paris told Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM that they’re “really good friends” and that they are “very close.” It sounds a bit complicated, especially for Paris:

“He’s such an amazing man,” she told Seacrest. “He’s my best friend. He’s been so great to me, so loyal. He is an incredible person, and we will always be really close. We’ll see what happens in the future.

“I’m still in love with him.”

Oh, yeah: and she’s so not into Stavros. I’m going to give this more time and see how it turns out. If we learned anything from Friends, it’s that taking a break can go wrong.

We knew it! Benji Madden has broken up with Paris Hilton, and hopefully Paris has learned her lesson about giving embarrassing, romantic interviews that later bite you in the a*s. It wasn’t even a year yet, and Benji was the “love of her life,” and they were making beautiful music together. So the Stavros thing really was a rebound move– how sad.

According to Star, this is Benji’s doing:

Paris was fed up with Benji always telling her what to do and bossing her around. She couldn’t take his overbearing ways anymore. It was stressing her out. He can be very aggressive and he was just too much trouble.

She felt she couldn’t cut loose and party. He doesn’t drink and doesn’t think she should either. She felt too fenced in.

It’s pretty sad that Paris felt so bad because Benji was concerned about her drinking, wanted to spend quiet time together, and tried his best to watch out for her. Yes, going back to Stavros sounds like a very good idea to me *cough*.

Page Six came out with the speculation that Gwyneth Paltrow is facing marriage difficulties and just might be heading to Divorce Town on the coattails of her friend Madonna! She was seen husband-free in Miami for the Victoria’s Secret show in Miami, where she posed it up looking severe and kind of like someone who might not be lucky in love.

The plot thickens because Gwyneth Paltrow has been seen hanging out with the Fontainebleau Resorts owner Jeff Soffer– referred to as “Miami Royalty” by Page Six– and was seen riding in his Bentley, hanging out on his yacht, and getting a private tour of the newly refurbished place.

Page Six reports that “Paltrow didn’t stay at the hotel with other guests, opting to ‘stay at a friend’s house instead for more privacy.’ While attending the Victoria’s Secret party and show, she ‘remained closed off in a private section and hung out with Soffer and Madonna paramour Alex Rodriguez.’”

A source added that “If things were so great with Chris, why wouldn’t she be with him?” Exactly!

Le sigh, Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling have split up for good! Boo, everyone seems to love them, but it’s another case of relationship-death-by-Hollywood, with an insider saying that “‘Rachel is too controlling. They broke up the first time because of their busy schedules — and that’s the problem again.’”

Why can’t Spencer and Heidi go this way? I’m inclined to believe that Spencer even enjoyed having Heidi get fired (see evil grin here), and I’d love to be reporting that news instead.

If I ignore the conflicting reports (flaunting her single self vs. being engaged), I can concentrate on the ridiculousness that is this OK! mag report. They’ve made Jennifer Aniston out to be a heroine of the dating world, when what she was really doing was shopping and sightseeing:

“Indeed, Jen spent the next few days showing just how happy she was to be single, wearing flattering outfits and going shopping. She also spent time soaking in some culture, walking the halls of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on, where she spent over an hour admiring one exhibit.”

There’s a grain of truth to the lightweight sensationalism, even if it does describe Jen as “‘openly encouraging the attention, smiling, showing off her body, and creating photo ops’”: I’d be happy to be single after my ex gave everyone blow-by-blow account of the breakup. Maybe Jennifer’s not flaunting her singleness as much as rejoicing the fact that she’s escaped from such a cad. Now that I can believe.

John Mayer’s just continuing to cement my theory of how scumbag-ish he really is. I don’t even have to try anymore– especially not with sources like The Mirror digging up the good dirt on how his split with Jennifer Aniston came about:

“A friend told [Mirror]: ‘She is so intent on getting married and having children, he felt hemmed in. After a 20-minute phone conversation, he just said, ‘I can’t take it any more,’ and hung up. Then he texted, ‘That’s it – the end.’”

Not only is John Mayer really polite, but he’s obviously a perfect gentleman, too. I can so imagine this happening.

John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston, no more? Maybe John Mayer really is an a*s– just like I always suspected. According to yet another random “source” John has already moved on, and since I hate him, I’m happy for her. The Mirror reports:

“John took the decision to end things as he felt he just wasn’t ready for the level of commitment that Jennifer deserved. Contrary to reports, Jen didn’t want to have kids or marry this year, but she did want to set a timetable for their future together.”

Well, well. I have to agree with Jezebel. John Mayer just might have pulled a John Mayer after all– and if so, I’m just glad that Jen got out when she did!

The Break-Up That Surprised. . . Nobody is a post from: The Inquisitr

Is Drew Barrymore this cold? Ouch. According to E! Online‘s source, Justin Long dropped out of Whip It!, Drew’s first feature film directorial, because “He couldn’t stand working with her and not being with her” and that “He’s too upset.” And there’s more:

“She dumped him. She was hot and cold. One minute she was in love with him and the next she wanted to break up with him. He is so distraught over the split that he dropped out of the movie.”

Since Justin’s involvement with the film, according to Chris Miller (a rep for Flower Films), “border[s] on his personal life,” we’re not going to get an answer there, either. I hope his rep sets things straight soon– they announced the breakup in early July, and I’m sure he wants to get over it.

Perhaps some time at Comi-Con will help Justin forget about his troubles? That’s where he’s supposed to be this weekend. While it wouldn’t do it for me, he can do what he wants until the whole shebang is cleared up.
