Hollywood Studios to Movie Stars: Stop using Twitter

Hollywood still doesn’t get social media, so they are doing the only right thing (in their mind) banning it. Studio execs are so afraid that actors are leaking film information on Twitter and Facebook, that they’ve decided to insert clauses in their contracts forbidding them.

Disney-owned Dreamworks are one of the scared studios. According to The Hollywood Reporter Cameron Diaz and Mike Myers are affected by the new clauses. God forbid someone should make any free publicity for Shrek 5 or is it 6? (I’ve stopped counting).

This could also explain Miley Cyrus’ Twitter exit earlier this month. The Disney talent contracts forbids confidentiality breaches via “interactive media such as Facebook, Twitter, or any other interactive social network or personal blog.” Dreamworks are restraining eager writers with a similar clause in their contracts regarding sharing of press releases on “a social networking site, blog or other Internet-type site.”

Maybe Ryan Seacrest scared them when he announced Ben Silverman’s resignation as co-chairman from NBC on Twitter before it was officially announced.

Or perhaps it was when Paula Abdul quit American Idol using Twitter?

It could also be because Greg Grunberg tweeted a goodbye to the Heroes crew. “Tough to say goodbye to crew not knowing if any or all of us will return next year.” Fans instantly thought that Heroes wasn’t coming back for another season until he tweeted ” Heroes IS coming back but some crew take other jobs, so it’s tough.”

This is just another example of, why Hollywood is afraid of Twitter and other social networks. They still haven’t seen the benefit of it. Hollywood wake up, you have no idea of the potential. I would worry more about making quality film.

Cameron Diaz is reportedly dating Jason Lewis

Cameron Diaz attracted attention with her flirty and affectionate behaviour towards the ‘Sex and the City’ actor during a recent meal together at a sushi restaurant in Venice Beach.

An onlooker said: “Cameron and Justin were sitting in the corner of Shima totally wrapped up in one another. They couldn’t stop touching each other. And we couldn’t stop looking.”

The couple have reportedly been friends for several years, but it is only in recent weeks that Cameron – who has been romantically linked with Maroon 5 star Adam Levine and actors Jude Law and Leonardo DiCaprio since splitting from British model Paul Sculfor in May – and Jason have started a relationship.

The source added to Grazia magazine: “They’ve always got along, but now realise just how much they have in common.

“Jason is exactly Cameron’s type. She’s attracted to athletic types and they’re both passionate about the environment.”

Like Paul, Jason has previously dated Jennifer Aniston – who was in a relationship with singer John Mayer for several months after he split from Cameron.

Cameron Diaz was given the unexpected proposal when answering questions from fans at the Comic-Con 2009 convention in San Diego, California.

The unidentified man shouted out to the Hollywood actress: “Will you marry me?”

She answered: “Yes! Where are you? Why not?”

However, Cameron did have one stipulation for her potential fiance – that they tie the knot in the US gambling capital Las Vegas.

She added: “Can we get married in Vegas? I always wanted to get married in Vegas.”

The beautiful star also told how, despite being at the convention to promote her new movie, psychological horror ‘The Box’, she can’t watch scary movies.

Cameron, 36, said: “You know what terrifies me? Trailers to horror movies!

“I kind of want to look, but I’m always afraid that I’m going to look too long and see the one image that I’m not going to be able to get out of my head for at least a week every night before I’m going to bed.”

‘The Box’, directed by ‘Donnie Darko’ creator Richard Kelly and also starring James Marsden, is set for release in December.

Cameron Diaz happy about more serious roles

Cameron Diaz – who plays a mother whose daughter has terminal cancer in ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ – enjoyed the challenging maternal role because it was completely different to her usual parts.

Cameron – who shot to fame after starring in several hit comic films – said: “I’m not going to be the 23-year-old ingenue again. If I tried to hold on to that, I’d be a pretty unhappy individual. I don’t make movies for my ego. I do them for my personal growth and to give something to an audience.”

Despite growing close to her 13-year-old ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ co-star Abigail Breslin, the blonde beauty is still unsure whether she will become a mother herself.

She explained: “I don’t declare either way if I’m going to have children. I don’t know what will happen… and I’m totally fine with that.”

Earlier this month, Cameron said she found it easy to empathize with her character Sara Fitzgerald even though she is not a mother herself.

Cameron – who recently split from British model Paul Sculfor – said: “I think we all related to the fact that there isn’t anything that you wouldn’t give someone that you love that deeply. You do whatever it takes to keep that person alive. I think that that’s something that spoke to most of us, for this film, and what I think is so effective in the film.”

36 year old former model turned actress Cameron Diaz was pictured in New York this week looking rather interesting.

Clearly she wasn’t wearing any makeup, but her face is starting to go the way of Goldie Hawn, and that’s not a compliment. Fake tan, wrinkles (girlfriend needs a decent moisturizer), and a puffy face don’t offer an appealing package.

Still, even the good looking ones lose their looks with age. We’ll, some do, like Angelina Jolie, although even raising a tribe of children wasn’t as unkind to Jolie as age has been to Diaz. Do. Not. Want.

Did Sean “Diddy” Combs Change His Name AGAIN or What?

The trouble probably started up after Sean “Diddy” Combs rapped “They call me Puff Daddy. . . he’s back” on the O’Neal McKnight single remix “Check Your Coats.”

As soon as I saw this gem in US Weekly, I knew that I should ride it out for a while. Just as predicted, after we all thought that Sean “Diddy” Combs wanted his name changed back to “Puff Daddy,” his rep has swiftly gone around squashing rumors left and right. Surprised? Probably not, especially if you’ve already had to adapt by calling him Puffy, Diddy, and Sean Jean in the past!

“This is not true. There is no name change,” his rep told US Weekly after the reports of the change circulated.

One thing that really should have been sorted out was his MySpace page, then. If he didn’t want confusion over what the f- he should be called, do you think he should have posted “This is your boy Puff Daddy!!! Yes Puff Daddy“? His rep probably wants to kick him at the moment, and rightly so.

Talk about the perfect way to get ridiculed. Saturday Night Live is going to have a field day with this one.

Death in the Family? Press Junkets Must Go On

You can’t help feeling for celebs when they’ve been foisted off into the public eye after a particularly tragic something has happened. Cameron Diaz has been making the rounds for What Happens in Vegas and she’s been choking down tears along the way after her father’s unexpected death. Since the extra slimmed-down starlet made her first appearance since his death at the film’s premiere on May 1st, the press rounds have continued at their usual fervent pace.

Cameron may have showed signs of the pressure of being “up” all the time during an emotional Good Morning America interview today, where she smiled and simultaneously looked close to an emotional meltdown, stating “Well you know, it’s one of things you don’t really sum it up in a few words. I just think we’re so fortunate as a family to have the family that we have and my father, he was dad.” After reading that little gem a few times, it doesn’t really make much sense. Clearly Cameron has other things on her mind, but the show must gone on, mustn’t it?

Think it comes with the territory? It certainly does. But it also reminds us of something else– life just doesn’t stop.
