Just as the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 delivered a franchise best grossing $829 million at the worldwide box office, Summit Entertainment have announced that the last installment has sold 3.85 million DVD and Blu-ray units in its first weekend of release — topping the opening weekend for Part 1.

In Twilight Saga tradition, Summit released Breaking Dawn Part 2 DVD/Blu-Rays for sale just past midnight at 12:01 am allowing the over 3000 stores that participated to make the release an event for fans.

Deadline reports Blu-ray sales made up 27 percent of weekend sales which is a hike up of 22 percent of the first weekend sales of Breaking Dawn – Part 1.

Summit also said the final film in the series recorded approximately 20 percent more electronic sell through transactions than Part 1, which it called “early indications of a robust VOD performance as well.”

In a press release, Lionsgate’s Ron Schwarts, executive Vice President and general manager of home entertainment, said:

“Consumer demand for ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2‘ reflects strength in all segments of the home entertainment marketplace – packaged media, digital and on demand.  This is further proof that author Stephenie Meyer has created a timeless classic that moviegoers want to enjoy over and over in a wide variety of formats.”

Despite scathing reviews from some critics, most considered the final film in the series as a fitting end to a franchise which has so far grossed more than $3.3 billion worldwide box-office. That figure will now receive a boost of millions of dollars from home video sales.

Cinema Blend notes that the Bill Condon directed closer “took a necessary risk in changing up the ending and it pays off in delivering on the momentum of the story in a way the final book doesn’t.”

The DVD release of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 bookmarks the 50 million DVD and Blu-ray copies generated by the first four films.

According to Variety, Lionsgate’s stock is now trading at nearly triple the price of $8.60 a share in January, 2012 when they bought Summit Entertainment — the original studio behind The Twilight Saga franchise — for $412.5 million.

The trade adds that industry analysts are confident that Lionsgate will continue to successfully launch more young-adult franchises in the future, given their internal restructuring and digital media initiatives.

There isn’t a film lover alive who doesn’t look forward to the winter holiday season. Every year, from Thanksgiving to Christmas, Hollywood releases one blockbuster after the other and this year is no exception. Breaking Dawn Part 2, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, On The Road, and Les Miserables are just a few of the new films that movie goers will enjoy during the month of December. We thought it would be fun to roll back the years and take another look at a famous film that made its debut in theaters 29 years ago today. On December 9, 1983, Scarface, starring Al Pacino, opened in American movie houses and gangster films were changed forever.

Brian De Palma, the filmmaker who created one of the all time horror classics, Carrie, directed Scarface and Oliver Stone wrote the script. Stone is an outstanding director in his own right, having made JFK, Platoon, The Doors, Natural Born Killers, and many other highly praised films.

The 1983 version of Scarface is a modern update of the Howard Hawks classic film from 1932 starring Paul Muni and George Raft as two hard nosed gangsters clawing their way to the top of the rackets in a bloody gang war.

Both films shared many common themes including the lifelong friendship between the principal bad guys; the boss and his trust worthy enforcer. The two versions of Scarface feature a secret love affair between the boss’ sister and his loyal underling that leads to tragedy.

Pacino was riding a major winning streak after appearing in such outstanding roles as the sad heroin addict in Panic In Needle Park, Michael Corleone in The Godfather Part One and Part Two, the hero cop in Serpico and a confused real life bank robber in Dog Day Afternoon. He sunk his teeth into the role of Cuban American gangster Tony Montana with such gusto he virtually chewed up the scenery in a performance so incredibly over the top that it made Pacino a film icon.

Scarface is not only a terrific motion picture, but it generated one of the greatest lines in the history of the movies. No film buff will ever forget Al Pacino as the crazed Tony Montana, diving face first into a huge mound of cocaine, then jumping up, rocket launching machine gun in hand, and opening fire on a small army of would be assassins while screaming “Say hello to to my little friend.”

We know you are looking forward to all the great new films coming out in the next few weeks, but if you want a wonderful evening’s entertainment, pickup a copy of Brain De Palma’s Scarface, pop some popcorn and settle down on the sofa for a non stop thrill ride. You may even be tempted to duck when Tony Montana points his machine gun at the camera and opens fire.

The weekend box office generated a substantial amount of cash thanks to the popularity of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 and the James Bond adventure Skyfall, according to Box Office Mojo.

Although Breaking Dawn – Part 2 netted a whopping $141 million over the weekend, the final installment in the popular series fell short of best the opening weekend numbers posted by New Moon’s. Director Chris Weitz’s entry in the franchise earned $142 million in just three days when it debuted in 2009.

Skyfall, the latest installment in the long-running James Bond series, dropped to second place with $41 million in ticket sales. If you’re sad about Bond’ inability to hang onto the top spot, then you’ll be happy to know the film has generated a remarkable $507 million worldwide.

According to Screen Rant, writer-director David O. Russell’s Silver Linings Playbook screened in only 16 theaters over the weekend. The comedy, which stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, managed to bring in $458,000 over the course of three days. The film is likely to earn quite a bit more when it opens wide on Wednesday (November 21).

Director Joe Wright’s adaptation of Anna Karenina also opened in a handful of theaters ahead of its November 21 release. The film stars a host of talent, including Kiera Knightley, Aaron Johnson, and Jude Law. In just 16 theaters, the movie made $315,000.

Director Steven Spielberg’s historical drama Lincoln starring Daniel Day-Lewis found its way into more theaters the weekend. The film earned $21 million in the span of three days. Considering the former President was against dashing British spies and attractive sparkling vampires, this number isn’t too shabby.

Altogether the top 12 movies earned the North American box office approximately $237 million. Were it not for the appearance of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, that figure may have been much smaller.

The final Twilight movie, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, brought in an incredible $30.4 million during its midnight debut but still fell short of the opening day franchise record.

Breaking Dawn Part 2 took in $71.2 million on Friday. According to Box Office Mojo, that’s the 6th largest opening day in history. Two of the top five movies with bigger opening days belong to the Twilight franchise. The Twilight Saga: New Moon took in $72.7 million and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 grabbed $71.6 million on opening day. (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 holds the box office record for the largest opening day. The final Harry Potter movie brought in $91 million.)

Summit Entertainment is predicting a $135 million weekend. If the new movie hits that total it will fall slightly behind Breaking Dawn Part 1‘s $138.1 million debut.

Twilight has also started strong overseas. So far, the movie has brought in more than $91 million overseas for a global total of $162 million.

Behind the new Twilight movie comes the new James Bond movie. Skyfall shattered its franchise record during its opening last week but ticket sales dropped nearly 60% for week two. Still, the latest James Bond was able to capture $12.35 million on Friday and is on its way to become the highest grossing Bond film.

Lincoln, Wreck It Ralph, and Flight complete the top five.

Twilight star Ashley Greene has gone red.

Greene is joining other co-stars in what is likely the cast’s final promotional tour for a Twilight film, the upcoming Breaking Dawn Part 2. Prior to heading to South Africa to pick up the next leg in the tour, Greene ditched her signature brunette locks, trading them in for a fiery red look.

She hinted at her new look when she tweeted “Jason Backe is working some magic on my hair at the Ted Gibson salon,” to her fans on Friday from New York City. “It’s going to be crazy and exciting.”

Greene admitted in a recent interview with Marie Claire that while she’s looking forward to her post-Twilight life, she will miss the attention that goes along with the franchise:

“Twilight has ruined me. When this is all over, flying internationally is going to be very hard for me,” the actress confesses. “It is just not worth it to buy a first class ticket, because of the cost.”

Continues the star, “I’m lucky because my dad taught me to be frugal and save. And that’s important because I want to know that I don’t have to take an acting job for two or three years if I don’t want to and that I’ll still be able to make my house and car payments and buy food for my dogs.”

She also chatted a bit about her love life:

“I’ve gotten very good at detaching whenever I have to go away for three months, which I realize is hard on friends and kind of selfish,” Greene said. “You go on a couple of dates, and then someone ships off to do a movie. I’m always here and there – everyone in my industry is – and that’s why a lot of relationships are fleeting.”

So far, the new ‘do is drawing a lot of attention to the 25-year-old actress, both good and bad. “The star is so pretty, she would look good with any ‘do, but we’re not sure this one is the most flattering,” writes HollywoodLife. “Maybe the star dyed her hair for a role? Or maybe it’s just a temporary color change? Well we hope so, because we already miss her brownish-blonde hair!”

In case there was any doubt, it’s pretty much back on between Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson (or is it?). The recently embattled couple were spotted kissing, cuddling and embracing by the pool and other outdoor areas of Stewart’s new Los Feliz home.

Perez Hilton reported on a series of images, originally posted on celebrity gossip site PopSugar on October 18, which show Stewart and Pattinson engaging in a little poolside PDA. What’s that you ask? “Where can I see these pictures?” Well, nowhere. Apparently, all 83 photos were yanked from the site within 24 hours of their initial posting. So why were they pulled? According to PopSugar:

“After learning more about the circumstances surrounding the images previously posted in this story, we have decided they are not up to our editorial standards. We have removed them out of respect for the privacy of celebrities.”

According to the Examiner, some fans say that the images were taken without the couple’s consent, which led to them being taken down. Others have called it a publicity stunt to drum up publicity for Breaking Dawn II. One of the more interesting theories about the Pattinson/Stewart scandal and reconciliation is that the entire thing was arranged for publicity, but paying attention to the other couple, Rupert Sanders and Liberty Ross, seems to indicate that the scandal itself was genuine. Unless, of course, Sanders and Ross stood to gain recognition for Snow White and their own careers by sacrificing their marriage.

In any case, the best explanation for where these photos came from and where they went comes from Lainey Gossip:

“The photo agency representing these images is AKM-GSI. It’s the same agency that often shoots LeAnn Rimes when, you know, she’s engaged and she just happens to be gazing out at the ocean with Eddie Cibrian’s arms around her and the ring in full view. It’s also the agency that shoots Megan Fox when she gets married in Hawaii, top secretly, or when she’s pregnant in Hawaii and the bump is unmistakable and her husband is kissing it. You know this, I know you do. That celebrities stage photos or arrange to have their photos taken ‘candidly’.”

So the photos were arranged by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to persuade Twilight fans that all is well and that they should go see Breaking Dawn II? I think a public statement would have been simpler.

You thought I was going to say engaged, didn’t you? Silly dreamers! Kristen Stewart is a homeowner once more, having purchased a mansion in Los Feliz which has the added bonus of being right next to her on-again boyfriend Robert Pattinson’s own pad.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are indeed a couple once more (just in time for Breaking Dawn II), and, while they undoubtedly want to be close to heal their relationship, they’re apparently not ready to jump back into living together like they were before the Snow White cheating scandal.

So instead of sharing a pad, Stewart just decided to up and buy a 3,361 square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bath home in the trendy Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Feliz for a whopping $2,195,000 as broken by RealEStalker and confirmed by Us Weekly. Of course, Stewart’s new mansion is located very close to Pattinson’s own $6.2 million Los Feliz home, which he bought in September.

MSN tells us that Stewart’s new digs features deep, shaded verandas, Saltillo tile and wide-plank flooring, a deluxe eat-in kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances and rustic wood cabinets, a fire pit, a dark-bottom swimming pool, and views of Hollywood.

Since Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson almost never talk to the media about how they’re doing, people that follow them around with cameras called “paparazzi” just take pictures of them while they try to enjoy a quiet night out. These most recent photos confirm with little room for doubt that Stewart and Pattinson are “back on” or that they’re at least working things out.

“Rob is still taking his time with Kristen,” a source told Us Weekly of the two.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson will be on the red carpet later this month to promote the final film in the Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn II, and they will almost undoubtedly face a deluge of questions about their personal lives at that time.

Twilight fans will not have to wait much longer for a sneak peek at the new Breaking Dawn Part 2 movie. Exclusive footage of the final segment in the vampire saga will air during the  MTV Video Music Awards show tonight. The movie trailer will include scenes with an angry werewolf, Volturi, and a glimpse into the future for Alice. The characters of Edward and Bella will also be shown planning to do whatever is within their power to save their daughter, Renesmee.

The excitement of the music video contenst may take a backseat to the frenzy over the Breaking Dawn Part 2 preview at least for the plethora of Twilight fans tuning in to the MTV broadcast. The real life drama between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart does not appear to have dampenend the anticipation over the final installment of the popular vampire series.

The Twilight movie picks up after the birth of Renesmee as the Cullens gather with other vampire clans to protect the baby from the false allegations which make the family Volturi’s target. Volturi will push on with the quest to attack the happy little family. The safety of the half-vampire baby is in jeopardy as noted on a 14-second trailer published by the Huffington Post.

During the video teaser, Jacob announces in his most serious tone that he has never been afraid of vampires. Until the movie is released in November, diehard fans of the saga will simply have to satisfy their desire for blood-sucking drama with intermittent short video clips.

The Breaking Dawn Part 2 supporting cast includes Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Dakota Fanning, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kellan Lutz, and Nikki Reed, IMDB notes, as well as Michael Sheen and Mackenzie Foy. The film is directed by Bill Condon.

The tumultuous breakup of Twilight stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson after Stewart was snapped canoodling with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sands has been one of the biggest gossip stories of the summer, and now it is being reported that the on-the-outs pair are battling over who gets to keep custody of Pattinson’s puppy.

In happier times, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were co-parents to dog Bear, but now that the couple aren’t speaking, Bear’s future has become a point of contention. Gossip site RadarOnline explains that the famous couple adopted Bear together, but that Pattinson feels the companionship of his canine is necessary to mend his broken heart.

The site spoke to a Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson insider, who reveals that the doggie drama is serious business:

“After Rob moved his things out of their Los Angeles home, he then told Kristen he wanted Bear… She was heartbroken – they adopted Bear together and she always felt that he was their little baby.”

The spy continues:

“But Rob was so hurt by Kristen’s actions he decided that he wants the dog to help him get over what happened. After all, a dog is a man’s best friend and Bear is such a good companion… However, Kristen won’t give up Bear in a hurry. She helped Rob save Bear from Parvo disease, which nearly took its life when it was a puppy.”

The insider explains that the couple can’t come to an agreement over Bear:

“She wants joint custody – and it could get a little messy.”

Should Robert Pattinson get custody of the dog instead of Kristen Stewart after her apparent betrayal?

After Kristen Stewart was snapped kissing Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, she issued a near-immediate apology owning up to the behavior (well, it was kind of hard not to considering that there was extensive photographic evidence of the clandestine canoodling) and instead of blaming drugs, alcohol or loneliness due to crazy actor schedules for the smooch, she simply apologized to her co-star and boyfriend, Robert Pattinson.

But Kristen Stewart didn’t seem to get away with the tryst, as Pattinson reportedly moved out shortly thereafter. Still, Stewart gets points for honesty after the scandal, doesn’t she? Not so fast, experts on Hollywood scandals and damage control say.

While KStew did apologize profusely and in a seemingly heartfelt manner for her transgression, celeb PR bigwigs say that her “sorry” may have done more harm than good where her public image is concerned. It may seem shady, but one expert says there’s a reason why celebrities don’t own up to misdeeds so readily and publicly:

“The only thing more stupid than being famous and cheating in public is admitting it and issuing a public apology… Most celebrities are advised to ignore it or issue statements saying the pictures were taken out of context. Everyone in Hollywood is asking why she confessed to this so fast.”

Another clucking PR guru says that Stewart’s tearful apology nearly guarantees the story will remain on front pages for weeks to come:

“This was career suicide… Because of her statement, Us Weekly [which had the exclusive images] was up 25 percent in newsstand sales. The number guarantees the story will be on the weekly covers again this week.”

The cleanup whiz continues:

“If Kristen thought the statement would get ahead of the story and suck the oxygen out of the fire, she is wrong. She just poured gas on the fire.”

Kristen Stewart’s Apology Made Things Worse, Hollywood PR Experts Say is a post from: The Inquisitr

On reflection, two earthquakes occurred in California last night.

Of course, the difference between the magnitude-3.8 quake in Southern California and the ‘Kristen [Stewart] Cheats on Rob [Pattinson]’ bombshell story published by U.S Weekly yesterday – subsequently removed, then reinstated – is that the quake produced no damage and no injuries.

As shockingly candid pictures of Snow White and The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, 41, and Stewart, 22, hurtled around the Internet, taken just days before loved-up shots of Pattinson and Stewart at a Bobby Long gig and at the Teen Choice Awards on July 22 – by day two, the “cheat” meme had gone nuclear.

Despite initial fan claims of Photoshopping, this scenario began to look less and less likely as radio silence from Stewart’s and Sanders’ camp continued. Today a devastated Kristen Stewart publicly apologized via People.

Stewart’s statement said,

“I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I’m so sorry.”

Shortly afterwards Rupert Sanders released a statement of his own via U.S Weekly saying,

“I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together.”

Seemingly, both are remorseful. But as far as the gossip stories go the Stewart-Sanders story is pretty much the definition of tabloid gold. Right up there with ‘Britney Shaves Head’, those first pictures of Angelina and Brad, and an expose of  Mitt Romney with a goat.

The economics of scandal has long since been a demonstrable money-maker. Witness both yesterday and today’s media pile-on. Hot on the heels of U.S Weekly and People, E! Online ran a number of bargain basement stories, one of which asked, “Watch Kristen Stewart & Rupert Sanders on the Red Carpet: Were There Signs of Cheating?”

Reams will be written about the fact that Sanders is married to model/actress Liberty Ross and has two young children. From here on in countless retrospective analyses of Snow White promos can also be expected. So too can the inevitable flood of quotes from unnamed “sources” and “friends”of the quartet at the center of this firestorm; Stewart, Sanders, Ross, and Stewart’s off-screen boyfriend of four years – Robert Pattinson, 26.

According to one outlet, Stewart’s reps were pre-warned about the incriminating photographs on Monday June 23, which may or may not mean that was also when Pattinson was told the devastating news. Yesterday, damage limitation via People (again) quoted a source saying,

“Kristen is absolutely devastated. It was a mistake and a complete lapse in judgement.”

The source adds,

“She wasn’t having an affair with Rupert. It was just a fleeting moment that shouldn’t have happened. She never meant to hurt anyone. She’s a good person who just made a bad choice. “

Last night (UK time) Liberty Ross tweeted a series of cryptic messages, one of which was a retweet of a Marilyn Monroe quote – “Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.” Today, tellingly, Ross’s Twitter account has been deleted.

But as debates rage and online polls ask who’s to blame and many brace for yet another ‘fairytale-romance-bites-the-dust-fest’; unlike the across-the-board media approval that greeted news of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruisie’s divorce filing – coverage of the Stewart-Sanders scandal has been far from universally crowing.

Pre-Stewart’s statement, in a rare example of restraint some media outlets held their fire. Preferring to wait for offiicial confirmation or denial, some contented themselves with opines about the need for caution before believing allegations. While others, straight out of the gate, called the claims false.

There may be several reasons for this.

In the case of Holmes and Cruise, the June 29 missive was a statement of fact not an allegation. No-one had to fret about legal comeback. Plus, public opinion and the media had long viewed the Holmes Cruise union with cynicism.

Couch-jumping and Eiffel Tower proposals aside, something had always rang hollow about all that endless gushing. The Scientology factor was just the clincher.  When the oh-so-rapid-end came, it was easy to root for Holmes – heck, people were virtually hanging out bunting.

In comparison, the Stewart-Sanders revelations have left many not only bewildered and angry but disappointed and – to put it simply – just plain sad.

Unlike the Cruise and Holmes love-in, until this year there had been no clear declarations of love from either Stewart or Pattinson. Sure there were snatches: the “my boyfriend’s English” remark in GQ, the endless pap shots, the Water For Elephants almost-kiss and so on, not to mention the palpable body-language present whenever ‘Robsten’ – as they were dubbed by fans and the press – were within 100 meters of each other.

But it was this year, 2012, that a decision to be open about their relationship appeared to have been made.

Paris fashion week, the Cannes Film festival, Stewart’s on the record “f-ing boyfriend” remark in Elle U.S, Pattinson’s defense of Stewart in Vanity Fair, Coachella, the New Jersey wedding et al – not to mention Pattinson’s recent BlackBook Magazine interview in which, using BB’s conceit of a ‘talking’ heart, Pattinson answered persistent marriage questions thus:

“Even my own mum called to ask me if it was true.” Then, out of quotes, but clearly signed off on – ['It’s not. At least, not yet. But it is true that Kristen has always done something to me that others haven’t.']

All of the above confirmed what the most of sentient world already knew and wanted to be true.

In spite of the obstacles that existed when they met – Stewart’s previous relationship with actor Michael Angarano and Pattinson’s alleged casual hook-up with Nikki Reed – the romance between the Brit boy who charmed America and the California indie-girl lit global imaginations becoming a real-life, obsessed-over love story.

We all read about the “chemistry” in the air when Pattinson auditioned at director Catherine Hardwicke’s house way back in 2007; how Pattinson was dying to meet Stewart after seeing her in Sean Penn’s Into the Wild; the Xanax story; how Stewart (then 17) picked Pattinson (then 21) from a stack of contenders for the role that would change his life  - and hers.

A bonafide pop culture phenomenon beloved by millions not only for its story but for the actors at its heart, Stephenie Meyer’s juggernaut series thrust both Pattinson and Stewart into the white-hot spotlight of relentless public scrutiny.

Undeniable fact: Stewart and Sanders are adults with free will and both will have to deal with the consequences of their actions. Some might argue who hasn’t given in to feelings about someone and acted on them when they shouldn’t, especially in their twenties? Just as understandably, others take a harsher view.

The pressure on Pattinson and Stewart – and for that matter, Sanders and Ross – will be intense now. Repairing the damage done to a relationship when trust has been lost is difficult enough when it’s private. When it’s public, the stakes and the road back to redemption are even steeper.

Ongoing plans for a Snow White and The Huntsman sequel may now be jeopardized if Sanders remains at the helm. Likewise Pattinson’s all-important U.S promo tour for the much anticipated Cosmopolis kicks off in less than a month. And of course, in a few months the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 publicity machine will crank up in earnest.

Whether both or either of the relationships involved in this mess will make it out intact remains to be seen. For now, the story is dominating the entertainment news cycle as outlets gorge on a, seemingly, once golden, Hollywood couple.

Unveiled on the cover of Entertainment Weekly today, that other “First Family” – The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2′s “Edward, Bella and Renesmee Cullen” – stare resolutely into the mid-distance.

The saga’s denouement won’t hit theaters until November 16, but when a beloved, multi-billion dollar franchise is involved – there’s no time like the present.

Yesterday, images of a partially hidden, 11-year-old Mackenzie Foy, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were released on EW’s official Facebook, triggering huge excitement among fans eager for a first, proper look at the “family.”

Introduced as a baby (after a harrowing birth scene) in Breaking Dawn – Part 1, Renesmee’s half-vampire/ half human genetics endow her with supernatural growth, so this time audiences will meet a young girl looking somewhere around 6 or 7 – although in the movie she might be aged younger.

A slew of new Breaking Dawn – Part 2 stills and extensive quotes from the film’s leads and director in EW, revealed more than a few gems about what audiences can expect later this year.

“Stranger than all the other films put together,” is how Pattinson describes the final installment. Then, “Vampires are weird.”

Stewart agrees. “Let me tell you, this movie is so weird. It. Is. Bizarre.”

Referring to Stewart’s vamp transformation,Taylor Lautner said, “That’s kind of the huge thing that the fans are waiting for – to see the clumsy teenage Bella that Kristen did so well, suddenly become this super-sexy vampire who’s athletic and graceful.”

Lautner isn’t wrong.

Midnight Release parties held in February to mark the roll out of Breaking Dawn – Part 1 on DVD and Blu-Ray were sell-outs. The big draw being a heavily publicized first sneak peek of ‘vamp Bella.’

Director Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters, DreamGirls, Chicago) who helmed both Breaking Dawn installments told EW,

“[Stewart’s] transformation from high school girl to fierce warrior is amazing. She’s a different species now.”

And it seems Kristen was competitive about ‘vamp Bella’. “I know every single version of vampire and I took a little bit from everyone”, said the 22 year-old. “But I wanted her to be the best one.”

It sounds as if she really got into character too. Recalling a scene where Bella hunts a (foam) mountain lion, the actress reveals she, “ripped that mother to the ground!”

On how it felt acting maternally with her 11 year-old co-star:

“It’s a really cool relationship. I hope it comes across” Stewart said. Asked about resembling Foy the actress said, “Even our hands look similar. It was kind of strange. But it’s funny how it actually helps.”

Revealing the decision to choose Foy for the role of Renesmee was pretty simple in the auditions, Condon said,

“There were a lot of kids. But this was kind of obvious. It was one of those rare times when you see something – like with an apartment or house – and it feels good and you just need to take it. I felt that way, like, ‘Oh, this is good.’”

Possibly gleefully, Pattinson revisited the sore (excuse the pun) subject of the red contact lenses.

“Kristen complained about 500 times more than I have,” the actor told EW. “She condensed four years of complaining into a few months.”

There’s loads more good stuff in EW’s exclusive, especially about the swear jar Foy was given on set to curb the worst of the cast’s more colorful moments. Suffice it to say, Pattinson said Foy made around $ 850 during the shoot.

Much of the plot of Breaking Dawn – Part 2 centers on the Cullen clan’s attempts to protect Renesmee from the Volturi, (first seen in The Twilight Saga: New Moon) after a false allegation incurs their wrath.

This last installment will also see a roll call of vampire covens from around the world descend on Forks to help the Cullens defend Renesmee.

It’s going to be interesting seeing Stewart – who looks every bit the fierce mother in the new stills – work with this new dynamic. And for Lautner, too, his role as Renesmee’s’ protector will give him a chance to bring a different dimension to Jacob.

Far more action-centric than previous movies in the series, BD2 promises to be a climatic ending to Stephenie Meyer’s epic saga. If you can’t wait until then to see the Twilight cast together again, they’ll be appearing at this year’s Comic-Con (held in San Diego July 12-15).

EW reports the last scenes of the movie work as a kind of “visual valentine.” Fans will know exactly what that means. For everyone else, all will become clear on November 16.

“The end is so sweet. There’s this nice finality to it. Everyone who was watching started crying. It does a serious justice to the series.”

‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2’s’ First Family: Meet Renesmee Cullen is a post from: The Inquisitr

With directors like Rupert Sanders and Walter Salles singing Kristen Stewart’s praises, another quality helmer has signed up to work with the in-demand actress.

Variety reports Nick Cassavetes, known to most for romantic hit The Notebook, the controversial Alpha Dog, and the Palme d’Or nominated She’s So lovely (1997), will direct Cali – the viseral, action film Stewart will not only star in, but also co-produce.

Cali follows two San Fernando Valley sweethearts on a dangerous ride through the sex industry. After they sell a fake ‘snuff movie’ to unsavoury buyers and make off with a stash of cash, Stewart’s character is forced to return to her old life years later to rescue the younger sister she left behind.

Craig J. Flores (300, Everybody’s Fine, Immortals) and Zev Foreman (Killer Joe, Game of Death), and Michael Diliberti – scriptwriter for Cali – will produce the picture for Voltage Pictures. Production on Cali is forecast for a 2012 late summer start and release in 2013.

Diliberti’s industry history includes 30 Minutes or Less (writer), Stop-Loss (associate producer), the outstanding Notes on a Scandal (executive assistant), and rom-com Failure to Launch (also executive assistant). Voltage will shop Cali at the Cannes Film Market during the Festival, which (offically) opens for business on May 16.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Foreman said, “Nick’s the perfect director for this gritty, LA-based story, and will smartly balance the dynamic action with a true love story story. Nick’s record of working with top talent continues here in his collaboration with Kristen Stewart.”

This is a phenomenally busy time for Kristen Stewart. Seen attending the Metropolitan Costume Institute Met Gala in NYC yesterday, the actress will join her SWATH co-stars on the European press junket for Universal’s Snow White and The Huntsman kicking off in Paris tomorrow, before hitting London for the premiere of the fairytale fantasy on May 14, then Madrid three days later.

Stewart will join the cast of Walter Salles’s On The Road at the Cannes Film Festival on May 23 for the premiere of the Kerouac-based beat generation classic. The actress will also reprise her role as “Bella Cullen” when Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hit theaters this year on November 16.

Big year. Huge.

It should be obvious by now that as far as leading ladies go, Kristen Stewart is the hottest ticket in town. After recently wrapping additional shots for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, her next professional port of call was a chat with Jimmy Kimmel. And last night she dropped in on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.’

Radiating health and looking almost indecently happy, Kristen opted for designer casual. Teaming natural-look wavy hair with a Rebecca Minkoff ”Becky” in burnt orange, white Dolce and Gabbana James Dean T-shirt, skinny leather J-Brands and flats, the petite star was greeted by fans when she arrived and more had gathered by the time she left.

Walking out onto Leno’s set with a discernible limp after being introduced as a “kick-ass Snow White”, Kristen explained somewhat bashfully that she “wasn’t trying to have, like, ultimate swag” but had actually hurt her foot in Vancouver. A revelation that made more sense when Kristen told Leno the BD2 recall involved more “first hunt” shots because “we all wanted more of it.”

Laughing a little (OK a lot) as she answered a question about working with children, Kristen praised Mackenzie Foy (who plays ‘daughter’ Renesmee in Breaking Dawn – Part 2). But the “little chucky dolls” with “sticky hands” touching her face”? Not so much.

Opening up briefly about a childhood spent growing up “on a movie set” (mother Jules was a script supervisor, now director, while her father John works in production), and the parents who “made it possible” for her to get started in the business, this hugely successful actress rather modestly said her career was basically a product of “things stumbling together.”

Refreshingly, when asked if her recent crowning as [Glamour UK's ' Best Dressed woman'] made her feel pressured when she spent time filming Snow White and The Huntsman in ”chic” London, Kristen kept it real, mono-answering “No.” Saying she felt “stuck to California, young”, the 22 year-old’s relationship with fashion- despite Balenciaga, Stella McCartney,Paris and her recent ELLE UK cover – seems an intentionally non-intense one.

As for filming on the Snow White set (which took place in London) to hear Kristen tell it, it wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. For the role of the iconic heroine, riding a horse was a must and – as the actress more than implied with her “fire you” comment – seemingly a non-negotiable one.

“I rode once, I hurt myself though” she said. Pushing herself to get ‘horse-capable’ because she “wanted this so much” the Cali native said she preferred to feed apples to horses, rather than instruct them. “I don’t want to kick it in the ass, and say faster … it’s not my thing.”

A clip shown on the show of Kristen (as Snow White) facing down a super-troll suggests that, in the fantasy world at least, she’s entirely capable of holding her own.Jokingly describing SWATH as a “total chick flick” but ” in a great way,” it’s kinda cool she doesn’t feel the need to shout ‘hey-I’m-the-new-Milla-Jojovich-folks!’

Maybe that’s because Kristen Stewart’s too busy being, well, busy. Even before she hits the red carpet with Garrett Hedlund, Sam Clafin, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen, Danny Morgan and Sam Riley when her other forthcoming film On The Road premieres on May 23 at the Cannes Film Festival – Kristen’s promo diary pretty much runneth over.

Rumored to be making an appearance at the Costume Institute Gala on May 7– also known as the Met Ball– held at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art; on May 8 Kristen and her SWATH co-stars Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth and Sam Claflin will drop in on MTV for a Q and A with Josh Horowitz.

May 9 will see Kristen join Theron in Paris for the start of a press junket before the world premiere of the dark, fairytale epic in London on May 14, and Madrid three days later. Then, Cannes. By anyone’s standards that’s some schedule. But as Kristen said recently; for her acting is “a physical thing,” a love that moves and fuels her “like nothing else in my life.”

When you’ve got that, who needs swag?

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s announcement of Pattinson’s starring role in espionage thriller Mission:Blacklist, comes even more casting news. The in-demand Brit actor has just landed a role in David Michod’s The Rover.

Written by Michod and based on an idea originating with Michod (and Joel Edgerton), The Rover is about a man (Guy Pearce) who pursues a gang of thieves across the Australian outback after they steal his car and – more importantly – something of great value to him inside that car.

Pattinson, once again plays against the grain and will play one of the thieves who eventually teams up with Pearce’s character against the other thieves. He joins a cast that includes Pearce (Lockout, Prometheus, Memento, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, LA Confidential), and Joel Edgerton (The Odd Life of Timothy Green, The Thing), both of whom appeared in Michod’s critically lauded Animal Kingdom (2001).

With two new films announced in as many days, filming in Vancouver wrapped ahead of Cosmopolis’s imminent showing at the 65th Cannes Film Festival, and Bel Ami opening in U.S theaters on June 8 – these are heady times for Robert Pattinson. From November 16, he will be seen for the last time as Edward Cullen when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hits theaters.

Man of The Moment Robert Pattinson Lands New Role in ‘The Rover’ is a post from: The Inquisitr

In news now sweeping the internet, it’s just been announced that Brit actor Robert Pattinson is set to star in a new film – “Mission: Blacklist.”

Based on the real life events that led to the capture and interrogation of Saddam Hussein from the perspective of the man at the center of those events – Eric Maddox – a former U.S Army interrogator. Maddox famously said “There is nothing intelligent about torture” and Blacklist is being touted as a psychological thriller rather than a predictable action film.

Blacklist will do the rounds for distribution at Cannes Film Festival under the aegis of Embankment Films, a sales and distribution company run by Tim Haslam and Hugo Grumbar.

Deadline and Variety are reporting Jean-Stephane Sauvaire (Johnny Mad Dog, Matalo!, La Mule), as being “committed”  to directing the movie. The screenplay has been adapted by writer and producer Erik Jendresen, previously known for his work on Band of Brothers.

Jendresen’s adaptation is based on the Harper Collins novel “Mission: Blacklist #1: The Inside Story of the Search for Saddam Hussein”, itself co-written by Davin Seay and Maddox.

Ross M. Dinderstein, one of the producers of the film, along with Jendresen and Kevin Waller, describes Mission: Blacklist as “a gripping, edge of your seat thriller.”

The news today comes as Pattinson prepares for a momentous career year. Currently finishing last touches on Breaking Dawn Part 2 in Vancouver with director Bill Condon, the in-demand actor will soon be packing his bags for the French Riviera and the Cannes Film Festival.

Cosmopolis, the David Cronenberg directed urban shocker based on a Don DeLillo novel, has been selected to show in competiton at Cannes. Pattinson will also shortly be seen in U.S theaters on June 8 in Bel Ami, and in Breaking Dawn- Part 2 on November 16.  A big year – and it just got bigger.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have returned to Vancouver.

After a solo stopover in Washington where the Brit actor met up with friends for dinner at The Majestic on April 28, Kristen Stewart and Pattinson were both spotted at Vancouver International airport on Sunday afternoon  (April 29).

Actors Michael Sheen and Ashley Greene have also joined the (on and off-screen) couple and it’s possible more Breaking Dawn Part 2 cast members will be part of director Bill Condon’s recall.

As per Condon’s announcement on April 14 that he would be filming “additional shots” and some “last tiny pieces” for BD2, the returning cast,  Condon, cinematographer Guillermo Navarro and various crew are only expected to remain in Vancouver for a few days. Although the term “reshoots” is being bandied about in most media reports, the actual reason for the recall is a little less dramatic.

What’s happening this time are pickup shots and additional photography work not completed by the second unit crew the first time round. To ensure continuity with his character ‘Edward Cullen’, Pattinson will likely be wearing either a full wig or additional hair pieces, as well as the gold contact lenses he famously said he “wanted to burn” whenever shooting finished.

For Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, this is a particularly busy time for their careers. Kristen will shortly debut as Snow White in Snow White and The Huntsman. Also starring Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth and Sam Clafin, the dark fairytale epic opens in theaters onJune 1. The actress will also appear in On The Road later this year. Adapted from Jack Kerouac’s beat generation novel, the film’s impressive ensemble cast includes Sam Riley, Steve Buscemi, Viggo Mortensen, Tom Sturridge, Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund.

Robert Pattinson also has a bulging promotion diary this year. Lead in the forthcoming David Cronenberg directed Cosmopolis, the surreal shocker features a thoroughly international roll call of actors such as: Juliet Binoche, Mathieu Amalric, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton and Sarah Gadon. Cosmopolis opens across Europe and other territories from May 25. U.S audiences will also soon get a chance to see Pattinson in the lusty period drama, Bel Ami. Co-starring Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott-Thomas, Christina Ricci, Bel Ami will be available on VOD from May 4, and opens in selected theaters in the U.S on June 8.

With the Cannes Film Festival looming – where both Cosmopolis and On the Road  will compete in competition – in some ways, even though it’s work, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may well consider their return to Vancouver as the calm before a very perfect storm.

With a firm but friendly hand, Bill Condon, director of Breaking Dawn – Parts 1 and 2, nipped recent speculation in the bud today. Announcing via Facebook that some of the cast of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 would be reconvening in Vancouver for reshoots, Condon confirmed that the film’s leads Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were part of the recall. The open letter did however make it clear that no new scenes or dialogue were involved, just technical “I’s” and “T”s.

Hello Twihards!

Greetings from Los Angeles, where we’re hard at work on BREAKING DAWN, PART TWO. It’s truly crazy to think that it’s been a year since we wrapped production in Vancouver, since for those of us in the editing room the work has never stopped.

A film is a lot like a puzzle, with each piece – each shot, no matter how brief – needing to fit exactly with the ones around it. Our Part Two puzzle is finally coming into full view, and in a few weeks we’ll be heading back north to pick up some additional shots – the last tiny missing pieces. We’re not shooting any new scenes or dialogue, just some technical work with some of our cast and stunt actors.

I am really looking forward to being back on set with some of the friends I’ve made on my Twilight journey, like the great Guillermo Navarro, our cinematographer, and his crew. And yes, Rob and Kristen will be there too, to pop in those gold contacts one last time…

I’m excited to report that before too long we’ll have another trailer for you to decode. And wait until you see the first posters — they’re unlike any “Twilight” images you’ve seen before. And then November 16th will be upon us and the final film will be yours!

So, pretty clear then. Will Condon’s open letter stop the rumors? Doubtful. But one thing’s for sure, fans and movie-watchers will undoubtedly be wondering which cast members will join Pattinson and Stewart in Vancouver, what the new posters will look like, and exactly what Condon meant about decoding the next trailer?

In the thirteen second clip, Kristen Stewart’s Bella is a newborn vampire, and although we can’t see her face, it’s obvious she’s stunning. Bella is seen running through the woods, and even coming face to face with Jacob, played by Taylor Lautner.

“I didn’t expect you to be so you,” says Jacob, upon seeing the “new” Bella.

And a little later, the clip shows Bella placing her hand – and that huge ring – in her husband’s, while Edward tells her, “we’re the same temperature now.”

The full trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is to be released on Friday, March 23, coincidentally the same day as the theater release of another big film franchise, The Hunger Games.

Last night, Twilight fans flocked by the hundreds to Target stores in order to pick up a copy of The Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn – Part One, which was released at midnight. Fans who showed up to get a copy of the movie on DVD were also treated to a sneak peak of the final installment of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn – Part Two.

According to MTV, the exclusive clip was played at more than 500 Target stores across the county.

If the video from the Target sneak peak, which is a little blurry and hard to hear, doesn’t satisfy your hunger for Twilight, Collider reports that a new trailer will be shown before the Hunger Games on March 23rd. (You can see a trailer for Hunger Games here.)

The now movie will hit theaters later this year on November 16th.
