Bethenny Frankel, Real Housewives regular and entrepreneur, is also the creator and founder of the abhorrently-named “Skinnygirl” line of cocktails.

Odious not just because they conjure up images of starving and consuming alcohol instead, Frankel’s Skinnygirl line has been- according to high-end supermarket Whole Foods- yanked from shelves due to a questionable preservative used in the beverages. Frankel touts her product as pre-mixed drinks you “can trust,” and says the cocktail mixers have “no preservatives” and “all natural ingredients.” But Whole Foods disagrees, leading to dueling statements from the entities.

The market released a statement after their decision not to continue carrying Skinnygirl brand items, indicating that the inclusion of sodium benzoate- an ingredient that, along with citrus, can create benzene- makes Frankel’s line a no-go for their shelves:

 ”This product had been offered in 16 of Whole Foods Market’s 310 stores. After discovering that it contains a preservative that does not meet our quality standards, we have had to stop selling it.”

However, Skinnygirl and Frankel provide an alternate telling of events. The reality show doyenne claims her brand actually decided to ditch Whole Foods, not the other way around:

“With all due respect to Whole Foods, we were in a dozen of their stores and have decided not to continue in these stores. They represent an infinitesimal fraction of our business. We are, in fact, the fastest growing spirits brand in the US. Skinnygirl cocktails were created to solve a problem: to create a line of guilt free cocktails allowing women to drink the indulgent drinks they actually want to drink with as few ingredients as possible.”

Sodium benzoate- or E211- is certainly common, but many consumers choose to avoid it because of the harmful possible side effects, including some aging-related. Will you still purchase Skinnygirl products? Do you avoid sodium benzoate?

Mrs. Morgan, who was forced to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy after being sued for a failed movie venture, recently revealed to the New York Post that her never-ending divorce is adding to her financial troubles.

“I’m sure the world thinks, ‘Sonja doesn’t have to worry, she’s got that husband there for her,’” 47-year-old Sonja told the Post, “But I’m on my own.”

The husband she is referring to is her ex, 80-year-old John Adams Morgan, who, according to court documents filed by Sonja, owes her a $3 million lump-sum divorce judgment and over $300,000 in alimony.

Morgan also alleges that while her ex – whose family tree includes J.P. Morgan and President John Adams – lives on his private $19 million island, she has been banned from using, selling or visiting their co-owned properties in Colorado and France.

Despite the potentially devastating money woes, Sonja isn’t sitting around idly. The fan-favorite “housewife” has already begun to implement her financial backup plan which includes producing movies and emulating Bethenny Frankel – a former Real Housewives cast member who sold her “Skinnygirl” drink line for $100 million, landing her a spot on in Forbes as one of the top 100 most powerful celebrities.

“I’ll be like Bethenny. I’ll do the deals first, then the baby, then get married. Bethenny is funny as hell. I enjoyed my time with her. I’m going to be on E! Hollywood Story for Bethenny. She’s one smart cookie, and I’m following right behind her,” Sonja revealed to Popeater.

Real Housewives star Bethenny Frankel and husband Jason Hoppy met their new baby, a girl, a month early yesterday at New York Presbyterian Hospital yesterday.

A rep for Frankel commented to E!:

“Bethenny and Jason are proud to welcome their new baby girl…born at 8 a.m. . . . in New York City. She is a 4 lb. 12 oz., healthy baby. Bryn, mom, dad and [their dog] Cookie are all very happy.”

The couple had less time as newlyweds together than they’d originally planned- Hoppy and Frankel married on March 28th, and the baby arrived a month early yesterday. If you heard initial reports that the baby was a boy, that’s down to misinformation from fellow Real Housewife Jill Zarin, who posted on Facebook:

Just home from co-hosting LXTV today. What a thrill. Heard Bethenny had a baby boy…so happy for her and Jason. So happy for them.

Baby (girl) Bryn Hoppy is the couple’s first child.

Quite predictably, the Housewives of New York and the OC have got their backs up about. . . ridiculous, petty stuff. I’m sure that you aren’t surprised in the least, if you’ve ever seen the show where they fight about tennis, seating arrangements, dinner plans, and behind-the-back catty little convos.

This time, the OC and New York Housewives united to practice their script for the Bravo A-List Awards. Bethenny Frankel, in all her loud glory, revealed to People that the problem may have started when OC Houswife Jeana Tomasina said that she didn’t like the script they were practicing. Bethenny told People:

“They [The O.C. Housewives] said in our material that my apartment is a two-by-four, and it’s actually a one-by-two, and so I can take it, I don’t care. But they’re offended that I’m saying something about them living 65 miles from the beach. Jeana said, ‘I don’t think that’s funny.’”

Some reports hint that Bethenny might have gotten into a scratch-fest with Tamra Barney afterwards, who said that “Bethenny scratched me a little bit. I swear to god. She tried to get me from behind and I put my arm up, and she scratched me. I covered it with makeup.’”

NY Housewife Jill contradicted Tamra’s gossip, saying that Bethenny just “gave a dressing down” to one OC houswife backstage.
