Are you looking for that special present for the person in your life who has everything? How about picking up one of the old chompers from the mouth of John Lennon.

Omega Auctions in Stockport, England will place a tooth that once resided in the famous Beatles members mouth on the auction block in November and it’s expected to bring in upwards of $15,000.

For anyone concerned about the origins of the Lennon tooth this wasn’t a case of theft, the tooth was given to housekeeper Dot Jarlett in the late 1960s and her family just happened to hold onto it.

When talking about her odd gift Jarlett said:

“He was in the kitchen and he had this tooth which he had wrapped in a piece of paper,” while she adds, “He said: ‘Dot will you dispose of this’ and then he said: ‘Or, as your daughter’s a Beatles fan, you can give to her as a souvenir.’ It is something that we felt was very personal and my mum actually gave it to my sister, who has kept it safe.”

Jarlett is providing an affidavit with the tooth to verify it’s origins.

In the meantime does anyone else find it strange that John Lennon suggested that his own tooth should be given to a Beatles fan?

With so many songs about unity, love and peace it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Beatles supported people of every race and now their contract backs up that fact, showing that the Fab 4 refused to play any venue where segregation was allowed.

The contract is set to be auctioned next week and was taken from a 1965 concert at the Cow Palace in California.

In the contract which is signed by the bands then manager Brian Epstein it reads that The Beatles “not be required to perform in front of a segregate audience” plain and simple.

For interested Beatles fans the contract also shows how much they made for the show, a sum of $40,000.

Given Beatlemania at the time it also shouldn’t surprise anyone to hear that the contract required 150 uniformed police officers to be on guard.

Interesting fact, while the band played matinee and evening shows, the nighttime performance which showcased 17,000 fans led to the security barrier being breached and fans rushing the stage, forcing a delay in the show.

The bands contract is believed to have been formed after they refused to play a concert at the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida because it was segregated. City officials realizing they couldn’t upset fans eventually allowed the stadium to be integrated and the Beatles performed.

If you’re interested in getting your hands on the contract the cost is expected to be around $5,000 and it will go up for auction on September 20 in Los Angeles.

Beatles singer Paul McCartney, 69, will marry fiancee and New York businesswoman Nancy Shevell, 51, this weekend at his farmhouse in Sussex, England.

The couple have been bee engaged since April after McCartney provided Shevell with a $650,000 engagement ring.

A source close to the couple tells Us Weekly:

“It will be a small, intimate wedding,” while adding, “It’s going to be very elegant and classic. They are having a big party in New York to celebrate later on.”

The marriage will be the third for McCartney who’s first wife Linda died of Cancer in 1998, while his second marriage to gold-digger Heather Mills ended with a 2008 divorce that cost him $50 million, a sum Mills later complained meant she would have to fly “coach.”

This time around McCartney is marrying someone with money of their own, Shevell is the businesswoman daughter of cargo magnate Mike Shevell who’s who’s company is worth upwards of $500 million.

Shevell received her divorce from lawyer Bruce Blakeman from the US Supreme Courts of the State of New York on December 9, 2008, that split was said to be amicable.

Hopefully things work out better for the couple than their past marriages, one thing is for certain, this isn’t a money play for either one of them with no prenup reportedly being signed. If it does go badly Nancy will likely take the brunt of public anger, people just don’t like when other people mess with their Beatles.

Heather Mills took Beatles legend Paul McCartney for $50 million when their marriage fell apart, yet that hasn’t stopped McCartney from refusing a prenup agreement with soon-to-be wife Nancy Shevell.

That doesn’t mean no paperwork will be filed, Shevell will sign a one-page brief guaranteeing that she will not go after the McCartney children’s trust funds should the marriage fail.

It should be noted that Nancy herself is a very successful businesswomen and the heiress to the Northweat trucking empire founded by her father Mike Shevell.

According to insiders the couple are also great together:

“They are the perfect couple. And have both had a huge impact on each other. She has once again shown him that falling in love doesn’t have to hurt. This one will last forever. She is the opposite of Heather and hates the public spotlight, plus she doesn’t need his money to live a great life.”

Beatles singer Paul McCartney is taking yet another trip down the aisle, this time marrying 51-year-old American businesswoman Nancy Shevell.

After heading out to the  Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City he popped the question, nearly four years after the couple met in the Hamptons when McCartney was still married to Heather Mills.

An insider told PEOPLE on Friday:

“Nancy and Paul are getting married. Ring and all – very exciting.”

McCartney ended his six year marriage to Heather Mills in 2008, while Nancy was once married to Bruce Blakeman.

A friend of the couple tells PEOPLE:

“They have the right chemistry. They’re both cool, chilled out and optimistic. The couple have remained tight-lipped about their relationship, although in December last year it was said they were making secret preparations to marry.”

That same friend added:

“Paul and Nancy’s relationship is rock solid and there’s no mad hurry for a wedding. Neither of them want a big deal made out of it. It’s almost certainly going to be done very discreetly over in the US and Paul would ideally like to do it without any publicity beforehand.”

Good luck Paul, hopefully this one doesn’t hop off into the sunset as well.

It’s only been a week since the Apple announcement that they promised us a day that we would never forget and finally made the Beatles song catalog available on iTunes but between then and now they have sold two million songs and 450,000 albums.

According to Billboard sales worked out like this:

The initial Beatles sales figures are in: More than 450,000 albums and 2 million individual songs were sold on iTunes worldwide, according to Apple, since the Beatles catalog was made available Tuesday (Nov. 16). In U.S. the best-selling album was “Abbey Road” and best-selling song was “Here Comes the Sun.”

Of that tally, U.S. album sales totaled 119,000 units, which included 13,000 digital box sets, while individual digital track sales reached 1.4 million, according to industry sources. Each digital box set included 13 studio albums, the two-volume “Past Masters” compilation and the “Live at the Washington Coliseum, 1964” concert film. Sources say the U.S. album sales tally of 119,000 counts each box set as one unit, while Apple’s worldwide album sales tally counts each box set as multiple sales units, although it wasn’t immediately clear how many units each box set accounted for.

I’m not the biggest Beatles fan, I do have my favorites, but it isn’t surprising at all that their music is selling as well as it is.

The Beatles: Rock Band launched today (it’s been mentioned here once or twice already), so Microsoft is putting some very special edition Xbox 360s up for auction. Featuring artwork from the game, they are freaking gorgeous, and proceeds from the sales will go to the charity Doctors Without Borders, also known as Médecins Sans Frontières. Which is jolly nice.

It’s unknown how many of these actually exist, though I do know that each console will be individually numbered. The first is already up on Ebay and going for $7,000 as I type this. Wouldn’t it be amusing if Microsoft manufactured another five million?

The game is also out on PS3 and Wii, so if Sony or Nintendo want to mass produce a stunning, limited edition console for retail, I could be swayed. As it is, this Ebay auction simply causes my wallet to Gently Weep (last Beatles pun of the day, promise).

It’s probably the first really massive release of this fall, and in the next few weeks you’ll have a ton of downloadable songs to look forward to. IGN (full review here) envisages the game appealing to both serious and casual Beatles fans. Doesn’t that cover … everybody?:

“The Beatles: Rock Band isn’t for everyone. Like, say, people who don’t care about The Beatles. If that’s you, then move along. For those who have a love or even just a fondness for the Fab Four, Harmonix has created a fantastic tribute. It won’t teach you the full history of the world’s most celebrated band nor give you even a quarter of their extraordinary catalogue of music, but it’s still great.“

Eurogamer (full review here) published a review that mostly read like a love-letter to the band, but got to the point eventually. The point being: it’s ace:

“Beatles fans will have their own highlights from the game. Mine is the 45th and final track of the game, “The End”, also the final track on Abbey Road, the final album recorded by the greatest band in history. It’s the unimprovable climax to an astonishing career, with Paul, John and George trading riffs before the final swooning couplet, encapsulating the Beatles’ philosophy, melts into lilting strings that leave you unsure whether to laugh or cry.”

GameDaily (full review here) proclaimed the title a landmark:

“Of course, The Beatles are worth every penny, especially for fans of the Fab Four. This game delivers one of the most phenomenal music experiences, outside of hopping into a time machine and watching them perform live, we’re likely to see during this phase of our digital age.”

1UP (full review here), in a moment of sobering reality, gave the game a good-but-not-great mark of B, arguing that Beatles: Rock Band doesn’t do the necessary legwork:

“Rock Band Beatles is an excellent tribute to the band; if any group deserves to stand in the limelight of their own game, it’s The Beatles. But affixing “Rock Band” to the title leads to certain expectations — as a Rock Band player who still gets plenty of use out of Rock Band 2 and its ever-expanding setlist, I feel a little cheated that none of these songs are available online for the other Rock Band games.”

Ah the Beatles, I can still remember seeing Help in the movie theater when it was first shown and it would have been a lot of fun except for all the silly girls screaming all over the place. The band has been a icon of our society and the music we listen to and even though there music has yet to make it into the digital world but that is about to change with the upcoming release of The Beatles: Rock Band game. Of course with the Sept. 9 Apple conference there are also the never ending rumors that The Beatles might finally be coming to iTunes.

So it is interesting in light of this that The Official Chart Company – who puts together the weekly Top 40 in England – has come up with a list of 30 of the band’s top selling songs. There will probably be a few surprises in this list for some people.

More than 40 years ago, Julian Lennon came home from school with a picture he had drawn. He said to his dad, John Lennon from the Beatles: “That’s Lucy in the sky with diamonds.”

The picture of Lucy Vodden, Julian’s friend from school, inspired one of the most famous songs of all time “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” from the Beatles album, “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.”

Now more than 40 years later, Julian Lennon has found out that his old friend Lucy is not in the best of health. In fact, Lucy Vodden was diagnosed with lupus about five years ago after suffering other serious health problems. She has been struggling with extreme fatigue, joint pain, and other common symptoms associated with the disease. Lucy’s condition is now worsening and she is beginning to suffer advanced symptoms that could lead to a total breakdown of her internal organs.

Julian Lennon said in a statement given to the Associated Press:

“I wasn’t sure at first how to approach her. I wanted at least to get a note to her. Then I heard she had a great love of gardening, and I thought I’d help with something she’s passionate about, and I love gardening too. I wanted to do something to put a smile on her face.”

Veteran music critic Fred Schruers said that Julian Lennon’s act of reaching out to help Vodden and offer emotional support as she fights Lupus is very moving because of the childlike nature of the song.

“It’s enormously evocative but with a tinge of poignancy. It’s the lost childhood Julian had with that little Lucy and the lost innocence we had with the psychedelic era, an innocence we really cherished until it was snatched away.”

What if you took a Beatles classic and changed the lyrics to reflect what is happening in the video clip?

One of the big YouTube hits last year was a literal version of A-Ha’s Take On Me (sadly, it was pulled due to a copyright complaint), and this year we have the literal version of the Beatles classic Penny Lane.

The song, called “Carnival of Light,” is a 14-minute tune recorded in 1967. Many have previously thought the track was a myth, Paul McCartney told BBC News in an interview set to be aired this Thursday. The other Beatles, he indicated, thought the song was too “adventurous” to release, and it was only played publicly once. It was also knocked off of the group’s 90s Anthology compilations by popular vote.

Now, McCartney says he has the master recording and would like it to see the light of day. Ringo, along with the estates of John and George, would have to sign off before it could happen. But, as CNET Digital Media’s Steven Musil points out, an online release may be the only feasible way for that to realistically happen, unless The Beatles put out an entire new album for the single track.

If the idea does get the go-ahead, an Internet release may not be as far-fetched as it sounds. Even though the group has long resisted online sales of its music, it did take a big step toward the digital world a few weeks ago with the announcement of an interactive Beatles video game experience. Created by the makers of Rock Band and backed by MTV Games, the video game will put The Beatles’ songs into a Rock Band-style game in which players take an “unprecedented, experiential progression through and celebration of the music and artistry” of the band. The game, which has legendary Beatles’ producer George Martin’s son on-board as music producer and has the blessings of all four Beatles families, is set to be released next year.
