<p>This tabletop<em> Pac-Man</em> arcade cabinet is constructed entirely out of LEGO blocks (the electronics aside), which by my estimation makes it roughly 643 times as awesome as the real thing.</p>
<p>This even plays a bunch of stone-cold &#8217;80s arcade classics, thanks to a built-in Jamma 48-1 board. <em>Pac-Man</em>, <em>Donkey Kong</em>, <em>Space Invaders</em>, <em>Frogger</em>, <em>Galaga</em>, and more are on the menu. &#8220;No LEGO pieces were cut or altered to make this,&#8221; notes its creator <a href="http://www.bigbenbricks.com/ben/lego/pacman/pacman.html">here</a>.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s a video of the blocky awesomeness in action:</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" width="500" height="405" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><param name="src" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xpjtga8BnkE&amp;hl=en_GB&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x5d1719&amp;color2=0xcd311b&amp;border=1" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="405" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xpjtga8BnkE&amp;hl=en_GB&amp;fs=1&amp;color1=0x5d1719&amp;color2=0xcd311b&amp;border=1" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object></p>

<p>I avoided an &#8220;In Soviet Russia &#8230;&#8221; joke title, because this fascinating find by Eric at GameSetWatch deserves better than an old meme. These posters advertise arcade games that were once widely available in Soviet Russia, and include <em>Shooting Gallery</em> (above), <em>Paddle Boat</em> (below), and <em>Well, Just You Wait!</em> (bottom).</p>
<p>If you want to see these in the <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">flesh</span> paper, they&#8217;re on display now at <a href="http://www.15kop.ru/en/">The Museum of Soviet Arcade Games</a>. If you can&#8217;t afford the flight, a few more can be viewed in <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/a_dangerous_business/sets/72157623077517590/">this Flickr set</a>.</p>
<p>Apparently, these games were originally built in military factories from the 1970s onwards, and have now been restored for display at the museum, where they still operate with the old Soviet 15 kopek coins, themselves adorned with the iconic hammer-and-sickle emblem. Nice to hear about some Russian gaming history that doesn&#8217;t involve<em> Tetris</em>!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><a rel="attachment wp-att-54521" href="http://www.inquisitr.com/54517/amazing-soviet-era-arcade-game-posters/4217570083_3c1e54d416/"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-54521" title="4217570083_3c1e54d416" src="http://images.inquisitr.com/wp-content/2009/12/4217570083_3c1e54d416.jpg" alt="" width="353" height="500" /></a></p>

<p>Also, I need all of these on a t-shirt.</p>
