Earlier today, 70-year-old Josephine Harris met President Obama, and hosted the Commander-in-Chief at her Akron, Ohio restaurant.

Sadly, scant hours later, the grandma and restaurant owner has died — and her family members say that meeting the President was something she treasured intensely.

What may have happened to Harris isn’t even an entirely unknown phenomenon — we recently covered a study that indicated that death on one’s birthday is more common than on other days, and it is believed that anticipation and the subsequent end of looking forward may be a factor in such deaths.

Harris, who went by the name “Ann,” ran the restaurant known as Ann’s Place, where President Obama dined Friday morning. By all accounts, Harris was thrilled the President (of whom she was a big fan) chose her restaurant for his campaign-stop breakfast.

A local news source spoke to Harris’ sister, who explained that Ann loved the President, and that the event would have been one she cherished:

“I’m sure this was her highlight,” said Frankie Adkins, Harris’ sister, who lives in Tulsa, Okla., and heard about her sister’s sudden death from family members. “She loved Obama.”

According to an Akron, Ohio paper, Harris soon fell ill and passed away:

“Josephine “Ann” Harris, 70, of Copley Township, was taken by ambulance to Akron General Medical Center after complaining of fatigue and a tingling feeling. She was pronounced dead at 11:18 a.m., according to the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office.”

It is believed that Harris experienced a heart attack after serving President Obama, which resulted in her death.
