Teyona Anderson has been crowned the winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 12.

Anderson, a loss prevention analyst from Woodstown New Jersey, beat runner up Allison Harvard when the judges decided that although Anderson was more “robotic” on the cat walk, she had a more approachable personality and had better photo shoots.

As winner, Anderson gets a contract with Elite Model Management, a six page spread and a cover of Seventeen magazine and $100,000 contract with Cover Girl cosmetics.

Fans of the show aren’t universally supporting the decision, with Harvard being preferred candidate. Comments note that Anderson might photograph well, but will be useless on a commercial or down a runway.

People riot for many reasons: wars, police brutality, poverty…and now you can add wanting to be a model to the list.

Three people were arrested and six hurt after a riot broke out during auditions for America’s Next Top Model in New York Saturday.

Police aren’t sure what started the riot involving thousands of model wannabes, but (and I’m not making this up) the panic left the street outside the Park Central Hotel “littered with shoes and clothing.”

Footage from the scene shows what appears to be a disturbance mid way in the waiting crowd, followed by what can only be described as thousands of shorter models (you have to be under 5′ 7″ to qualify this year) surging in panic, breaking down the barriers dividing the crowd from the traffic. What appears to be fights break out in the panic, as sirens circle. Well dresses pandemonium is the only way to describe it.

Brittany “McKey” Sullivan has won season 11 of America’s Next Top Model.

Sullivan, 19, from Lake Forest, Illinois wins management and representation by Elite Model Management, a $100,000 contract with CoverGirl cosmetics, and the cover and six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.

Runner up at the America’s Next Top Model finale was Samantha Potter, with Analeigh Tipton coming in third.

Tyra Banks surprises America’s Next Top Model contestant Isis King on her show Tuesday with a free sex change operation.

Isis King is the first transgender contestant to have appeared on America’s Next Top Model.

US Weekly quotes King as saying “This is not happening! [I feel] like I’m about to wake up.”

King hasn’t gone in for the chop yet because she couldn’t afford the $20,000 to $35,000 price tag. Dr. Marci Bowers, “a top sex change surgeon who has gone through a sex change herself” agreed to do Isis’ chop and reconstruct for free.

Celebrity fashion designer Anand Jon has been found guilty by a Los Angeles Court 16 counts of rape, possession of child pornography and other sex charges.

The crimes included lewd acts on a child, rape and sexual battery between 2001 and 2007 against nine models aspirants aged between 14 and 21. According to Reuters, prosecutors said Jon lured girls and women to Los Angeles with the promise they could work as models and then attacked them.

As well as an appearance on America’s Next Top Model, Anand Jon’s clothes had been modeled by and designed for celebrities including Paris Hilton, Rosario Dawson, Lawrence Fishburn, Gina Torres, Oprah Winfrey, and Janet Jackson.

Anand Jon’d Defense attorney Leonard Levine plans to appeal. Anand Jon will have to serve 67 years of a life sentence before being eligible for parole.
