Qatar Bin Laden Group will be the majority holder at 51 percent of the two company’s new joint venture, BC Group, while Coprosa will hold 49 percent. The newly formed company will hope to appeal to Qatari leaders in charge selecting the companies that will construct the countries many upcoming projects.

“We want to be involved in the Doha Metro and other high-speed rail projects in Qatar, as well as hydraulics and water treatment plants. Coprosa has particular experience with high-speed rail projects, and we want to make use of that. We hope to be submitting proposals by the end of June,” bin Laden told Reuters on Wednesday.

The Doha Metro project will aim to connect all major stadiums that are being used in the 2022 World Cup hosted by Qatar by four rail lines. The project is also set to build an underground component underneath the capital of Qatar.

“There is a limited timeframe for projects in Qatar. It’s all happening in the next 10 years, and we want to be involved as much as we can,” continues bin Laden.

Qatar is sparing no expense when it comes to construction surrounding the preparation for the 2022 World Cup as they have allocated 40 percent of its budget between now and 2016 to go towards funding projects.

According to Yahoo, they plan to spend $11 billion on a new international airport, $5.5 billion on a deepwater seaport, $1 billion for a transport corridor in Doha and an additional $20 billion on roads.

What do you think of bin Laden’s son’s attempt to land these major deals?

Over 6,000 pages, including Arabic written as well as English translated documents give a rare and unsightly look into the life of the once most wanted man in the world.

The quotes released show Bin Laden’s thought process on how to bring down the U.S. nation from the inside out.

“Obama is the head of infidelity and killing him automatically will make [Vice President Joe] Biden take over the presidency,” Bin Laden wrote in a message to one of his top lieutenants, the Washington Post noted. “Biden is totally unprepared for that post, which will lead the U.S. into a crisis.”

According to official administration however, there was a major breakdown in the leadership and and communication with Bin Laden at the helm that disallowed the advancement of such attacks .

Towards the end of his control of the extremist group, there certainly seemed to be a lack of communication that effected the effort as a whole, eventually leading to the demise of the leader.

“Bin Laden would come up with an idea but it was a very broad aspirational idea,” an administration official told NBC ahead of the West Point release. “And then he’d turn it over to somebody and there was always some sort of disconnect.”

Adding that, “there was certainly a sense of loss in terms of the senior leaders that perished, a sense that the midlevel cadre had been decimated.”

All 6,000 pages, including the “Letters From Abottobad” can be read here.

Was there anything that you found particularly interesting in the released Osama Bin Laden letters?

In another six days, you’ll be able to relive the killing yourself in a videogame. While games have never held back from using ongoing conflicts in their narratives, this must set a new, slightly grisly standard for topicality.

KumaWar is a free-to-play tactical shooter developed by Kuma Games. It already offers 106 ‘episodes,’ each a reenactment of some famous real-life military operation. These mostly focus on Iraq, though there are missions based in a virtual Afghanistan, Iran, Mexico, Sierra Leone, and others. Existing episodes depict John Kerry’s Silver Star mission and the capture of Saddam Hussein.

Kuma Games CEO Keith Halper revealed to Kotaku today that KumaWar Episode #107: The Death of Osama Bin Laden would be released on May 7th:

“I looked back at 106 episodes of KumaWar and understood it was a story without an end and so it was a matter of personal decision between myself and the development and writing staff to say we can’t close the door on KumaWar until we’ve told this absolutely critical last story.”

Is this rampant and tasteless exploitation at its worst? That was certainly my first reaction – disgust is an easy first emotion in this case.

Yet according to Kotaku, Halper has previously compared what his company does to the work of news organizations, while KumaWar is endorsed by the History Channel. It also seems to strive for accuracy, with extensive background information for each mission, including satellite photos, Department of Defense records, and a multimedia library.

I guess what this boils down to is: are videogames a viable way of documenting history? As I sincerely believe they are, I don’t feel I can fairly criticize KumaWar, however current it may be.

Ahead of the statement, CNN has disclosed that bin Laden may had died in an airstrike in a mansion outside Islamabad, and that some bin Laden family members may have been killed. It was disclosed that bin Laden’s death was due to “actionable intelligence” received by the US.

11:35, statement begins. President Obama begins discussing the impact of September 11th on Americans.

11:39 Bin Laden was located in a compound outside in Pakistan. A “small team of Americans… took care to avoid civilian casualties,” and engaged in a firefight, ending in said Americans taking custody of bin Laden’s body.

11:42 Obama: “Justice has been done.”

11:44: Obama: “America can do whatever we put our mind to.”

11:45 The speech is over, after Obama thanks Pakistan for its cooperation.
