In a not-so surprise move, musician Adam Levine and judge favorite from “The Voice” has decided to open shop with his new recording label.

The lead singer of Maroon 5 announced the 222 Records label’s debut and its first signed act, Glee’s very own Matthew Morrison.  An album for the actor/singer is due out in the spring.

Levine had this to say about the label, “starting my own label has been a long time goal of mine and I am thrilled to be at the point in my career where it is finally happening. I am excited for everyone to hear Matthew’s forthcoming album. Great things are in store for him with this release.”

As far as how this duo formed Morrison is happy to talk about their chemistry. “Adam and I share the same vision as we begin working on my record together.” Matthew released an album prior to his debit on 222 Records last May under Mercury. The self titled album only peaked on billboard charts at No. 24.

Prior to his debut album of Marcury Morrison was recruited to join Making The Band reject boy band LMNT formed by Mike Miller, Bryan Chang, and Ikaika Kahoano. Looking back Morrison stated that, “It was the worst year of my life. You know when you’re a performer and you’re out there on stage and you’re embarrassed that you’re doing something wrong. It was pretty bad.”

Currently Levine is building his record label and currently negotiating with distributors while staffing departments such as radio, marketing, and promotions.

Adam Levine, the frontman for Maroon 5, wasn’t happy when he heard one of his songs playing on Fox News. The singer took to Twitter to demand that Fox never play his music again.

Levine wrote on Twitter:

“Dear Fox News, don’t play our music on your evil fucking channel ever again. Thank you.”

Musicians have frequently requested politicians to stop using their songs, but it’s rare for a musician to ask an entire network to stop playing their music. Why? Well, according to Rolling Stone, a musician doesn’t normally get paid royalties when a politician uses their song in a campaign. A network like Fox, on the other hand, is probably paying Maroon 5 to use their song.

Which is probably why Levine took to Twitter, instead of a court room, to tell Fox to stop playing his music. That way he gets to voice his personal opinion while still collecting a check.

Fox didn’t comment on the legal or financial agreement that it has with Maroon 5, but Fox anchor Greg Gutfeld from “Red Eye With Greg Gutfeld,” sent a tweet back to Levine.

Gutfled said:

“Dear @AdamLevine, don’t make crappy [f---ing] music ever again. Thank you.”

It isn’t clear exactly what song was played by Fox or why Levine took particular offense to it.

Don’t look for Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine this Sunday during the MTV Video Music Awards, giving his hatred for the event it’s likely he won’t be in attendance.

The lead singer and co-host of the popular NBC talent show The Voice had this to say about MTV’s attempt to still be relevant in the music world:

“The VMAs [are the] one day a year when MTV pretends to still care about music. I’m drawing a line in the sand. Fuck you, VMAs.”

Levine later went on to add:

“I may be a pop singer. but every once in a while the angsty teenager in me just blurts out some raw honesty. it’s a reflex.”

MTV responded with a tweet of their own:

“Soooo you’ll be tuning in at 9/8C tomorrow right? (BTW, bonus points if you TwitPic your 2004 Moonman!)”

Not surprisingly a bunch of other music artists tweeted their support for Adam who made a very valid point.

The 2011 MTV Video Music Awards will air live in Los Angeles tonight @ 9 PM ET.

Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera took some time out of their busy schedules to shoot and release today’s newest music video “Moves Like Jagger.”

The video starts with some vintage Jagger footage before a cast of misfits attempt to move like Jagger on grainy film meant to look like the music videos actual vintage Jagger footage.

When recently speaking to MTV News Levine revealed:

“We were lucky enough to get Mick’s endorsement, as far as him giving us access to a bunch of different footage.”

Levine appears shirtless in the video and does a bit of dancing on his own, although those clips are short and hardly show off if he really has “Moves Like Jagger.”

My only complaint is that Christina Aguilera hardly appears in the video, which I suppose makes sense since her vocals only make a quick guest appearance on the track which is backed by the Maroon 5 band.

For those who didn’t know, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera teamed up several months ago for the highly successful singing talent show “The Voice” which has been renewed for a second season.

The Voice features the pair alongside country hitmaker Blake Shelton and R&B singer Cee-Lo Green where each judge was asked to form teams of singers based on voice only auditions (they didn’t see the singer until after they heard their voices and asked them to be on their team), each judge then mentored their chosen singers in an American Idol type competition.

Adam Levine singer Javier Colon won the first season under Levine’s tutelage.

The Sunday Telegraph did the math, and have discovered that this was six weeks prior to Benji Madden’s break up with new Hollywood it girl, Sophie Monk.

What. Ever. Paris, is a boyfriend stealer and Benji Madden is a love rat.

Does anyone care? Sophie probably doesn’t. Sophie Monk is hotter than Paris Hilton (at least we think so because she has been known known to eat a sandwich) and there are rumours she is gettin’ some lovin’ from Adam Levine from Maroon Five.
