Video: Multi-Touch in Windows 7

Vista Team Blog: “Tonight, at this year’s D:All Things Digital conference, Julie Larson-Green showed Walt Mossberg how a few of the multi-touch innovations first previewed in Surface will ultimately enhance the next version of Windows.”

Apple wooed audiences when it first demonstrated multi-touch via a track pad built into Apple laptops, but Microsoft has now one upped Apple by bringing the hands on experience of the Microsoft Surface to the small screen. The new tech will be standard as part of Windows 7, although the hardware specs required to support it haven’t been disclosed yet, or whether this could be built into a standard laptop as well.

    patents on Multi-point Touch Screen

    Introduction:
    I have a Multi-touch Screen Patent.
     Patent I
This patent is characterized as Multi-touch Screen. It applies ‘electro acoustic translation layer’ underneath the petting area, which allows it to function as the Apple’s Projected Capacitive Touch Screen does. I believe it can be applied on mobile productions as well. It will be published at State Intellectual Property Office of China on 27th August 2008.
     Patent II
To perfect my patent furthermore and solve the sound switchover tier problem it might have, I have requisitioned a new patent using a new electro acoustic translation layer.
     Patent III
This patent can serve as the Apple’s Projective Capacitance Multi-touch Screen too without applying the electro acoustic translation layer. Instead, it adopts the newer technology of either Optic or Acoustic Grating layer.
All the patents listed above carry out the characteristics of Multi-point Analysis, Rigid Surface, Zero Drag, realistic image output of the petting area and even external surface.
Better than infrared ray and surface sound based blocking-type pseudo multi-touch screens, the original signal of all my patents occurs under the petting area, which enables it to output the realistic image of the petting area, further more, realize multi-point analysis at any time. Without the requirement of optics module inside the TFT, I am confident that my patents are able to reduce the cost. Comparing with the Projective Capacitance Multi-touch Screen, the patents of mine provide guarantee higher purity of signals.
I will requisition PCT for all the patents in the near future.
