An “artist” from Zion, Illonois is to appear in court next month with an application to change his name to the 1950’s introduced US motto “In God We Trust.”

Steve Kreuscher, a 57 year old school bus driver told local media that the name change is the only way he can be fully free to embrace his true personality.

He went on to say the words perfectly symbolize his life because his belief in God helped him survive depression, divorce and a home invasion.

Um…yeah….

“In God We Trust” was not introduced in the 1950s, it was introduced almost 100 years earlier. Although it is true that “In God We Trust” first appeared on U.S. currency in 1957, it was in use on U.S. coins beginning in 1864 with the U.S. 2-cent piece.
