John Krasinski Turns 34, Here’s Why We Still Love Him
Today is John Krasinski’s birthday, and in honor of the actor’s birthday we have decided to compile a short list that explains why we have a soft spot for the 6’3 34-year-old. The youngest of three, Krasinski grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, and would go on to not only star on the hit NBC show The Office, but he would become the best unofficial spokesperson for Dunkin Donuts coffee the west coast has ever seen.
During an interview Krasinski said of his challenges in getting Dunkin Donuts to the west coast, “I met the head guys at Dunkin Donuts about bringing Dunkin Donuts out here. They wanted to bring apparel out here first, so I lost that battle. I don’t really understand that battle. I said, ‘Bring the coffee and they will come!’
Fortunately for John he still has his day job. Krasinski played the lovable Jim Halpert on the American reboot of The Office. The show lasted nine seasons, but John is already going on to interesting projects as an actor and a writer. This year he voiced the character of Frank McCay for Monsters University, and made an appearance in the Netflix original series Arrested Development as Jerry Bruckheimer’s Assistant.
That said, there’s so many reasons to adore John Krasinski, and since today is his birthday, here’s a short list detailing why we love him.
1. John Krasinski was a Conan O’Brien intern
Before he was famous John Krasinski was working hard hours as a script intern for the Conan O’Brien show. What’s not to love about a guy who’s willing to work during his summer off from college as a glorified monkey for Conan O’Brien? As we all know being at the bottom and working his way up definitely paid off.
2. John Krasinski sings karaoke with famous friends
John Krasinski is kind of like us, that is if you ever crashed a bachelorette party to sing throw back tunes with your famous friends. Back in 2011 John’s wife Emily Blunt was filming The Five-Year Engagement with mutual friend Jason Segel. The duo decided to hit a local bar in Ann Arbor to sing “Brown Eyed Girl” and Joe Cocker’s “With a Little Help from My Friends.” The sing off between the both stars was pretty epic.
3. John Krasinski’s adorable relationship with Emily Blunt
What’s better than seeing John Krasinski’s Jim Halpert drool over Pam Beesly? Seeing the real thing between Krasinski and his wife Emily Blunt. During an Access Hollywood interview Krasinski said about his proposal:
“It was very casual. I was nervous and the whole nine yards. She did cry after I cried and we cried and then everyone around us was crying. Then, I think people weren’t really sure what was going on, but they were crying because we were crying. But it was great. At the end of the day she said yes which is great. It’s a big part of this whole thing.”
4. His role as Jim Halpert on The Office
When it comes down to it any infatuation with John Krasinski all started with his portrayal of the lovable, and big-time prankster Jim Halpert. Anyone who watched The Office rooted for Jim to open up to his office crush Pam Beesly, and when he finally kissed Pam, millions held their breath. It was a glorious moment in television history, and one that solidified John Krasinski as an undeniable star.
5. John Krasinski makes a wicked sponsor
Even if you aren’t a fan of The Office, odds are you’re familiar with John Krasinski’s voice. Currently Krasinski voices the Esurance commercials, Ask.com commercials, and was a part of the Blackberry Storm campaign. We love a guy that can switch from one medium to another.
