Katy Perry Passes The Torch To ‘The Best Voice’ In Pop

In recent years, Katy Perry has been said to be one of the most influential pop stars of her generation. Now it looks like Perry is passing the torch off to the incoming generation. One artist in particular has gotten the attention of the “Roar” singer.

During an interview with Sirius XM, Katy Perry revealed that Ariana Grande is someone she thinks has “the best voice” in pop. During the interview, Katy Perry simply couldn’t hold back as she spoke about Ariana Grande’s talent.

“I love her. I think she has the best female vocal in pop music today. She has literally the best voice, the best voice live. She kills it. She’s so good.”

Of their unlikely friendship, Katy Perry elaborated on meeting Ariana Grande recently, and even fessed up to being one of the first people to listen to Grande’s hit album Yours Truly. Of their hang out, Perry said:

“I got to hang out with her and listen to her record before it came out because I wanted to reach out to her and be like, ‘Hey girl, you’re just about to go through a whirlwind. Let me give you some tips if you ever need anything — a hairstylist, makeup artist, whatever. And she’s the sweetest girl and I just wish her the best.”

After Ariana Grande heard about Katy Perry’s praises, she tweeted at the singer, who is poised to release her own album Prism on October 22.
