Glee’s Dianna Agron Didn’t Ask To Come Back For Cory Monteith Episode

While many critics loved Glee’s “The Quarterback” episode that acted as a tribute to the late actor Cory Monteith, there was a few noticeable absences from Thursday night’s episode. One being the character of Quinn played by Dianna Agron.

The drama surrounding Dianna’s exclusion has been making the rounds at various sources. While some outlets have reported that Lea Michele and Ryan Murphy excluding her because of an alleged falling out, another source close to the situation claims that there wasn’t a falling out between the three.

According to E!the decision to exclude Quinn all came down to scheduling and timing. Agron wasn’t available at the time the episode was shooting, and she didn’t ask to come back for the tribute as some of the other actors did. Of Dianna’s absence creator Ryan Murphy said:

“When you write something like that there’s no right way to do it. So we wrote it. We put people who were under contract to the show in it. And a lot of the actors contacted me and said, I just loved him so much can I just please be a part of it? So we put those people in.”

Another insider close to Glee had pointed out that despite not being in the episode, Dianna Agron did attend Cory Monteith’s funeral, and is still “very much a part of the Glee family and remains friends with the cast.”

Radar had previously reported that Lea and Ryan Murphy had, “intensely dislike Dianna and have both worked to marginalize her as much as possible. They never saw her as a team player. They simply did not want her sharing the glory for this very special episode.”

Although sources had put the kibosh on Radar’s story, during an interview with the New York PostAgron seemed surprised that she wasn’t included in Glee’s tribute episode, having said:

“I think moving on might be the wrong choice of words because [Glee] is always going to be a part of me and with me and I would always go back.”

Also missing from the episode was Brittany played by Heather Morris. Morris recently welcomed a baby, and at the time of the filming, her pregnancy didn’t fit into her character’s storyline.
