‘Desolation Of Smaug’ TV Spot No. 3 Is Here [Video]

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug has premiered its TV Spot No. 3, ahead of what promises to be very busy months for Warner Bros. PR campaign.

The new clip only lasts for 31 seconds, but is full of action-packed scenes and gets fans’ blood going in anticipation of the much awaited sequel to An Unexpected Journey.

Peter Jackson’s trilogy debuted last December as he took on adapting the beloved J.R.R. Tolkien novel in the same format as he did with it’s sequel, The Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

In The Desolation Of Smaug we find Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) once again helping the company of dwarves led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage), with the assistance of Gandalf, the Wizard (Ian McKellen).

An Unexpected Journey ended when Bilbo found the treasure buried in the dwarves’ lost home, Erebor, and he found something else too, the feared Smaug, the Dragon (voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch).

The dragon is one of the most expected characters and Jackson has done an amazing job at keeping any and all things related to it quiet. The full trailer and other TV spots have shown more of the elusive character.

Desolation Of Smaug also introduces the audience to some never before seen characters such as Bard the Bowman (Luke Evans), Tauriel (Evangeline Lilly), and Thranduil (Lee Pace). Orlando Bloom returns to reprise his role from The Lord Of The Rings, Legolas.

The film was written by Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh, and Philippa Boyens and it is based on the Tolkien novel and its numerous appendices.

Jackson introduced the new film technology 48 frames per seconds (fps) in contrast to how many movies are shot these days, 24 fps.

The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug is set for release in 3D, HFR 3D, and IMAX 3D in US and UK theaters on December 13.
