Jennifer Hudson: I’m Sober, Never Had A Drink In My Life [Video]

Jennifer Hudson has never had a drink in her life. The 32-year-old singer appeared on Chelsea Lately last night and she shocked host Chelsea Handler when she revealed that she is, and has always been, completely sober.

Hudson said that she’s never had a drink and she’s never done any drugs.

Hudson said that her lack of experience with drugs and alcohol made her latest movie role a little more challenging. Hudson will play a heroin addict in the new movie The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete.

Handler said: “It’s great because you play a heroin addict, which is the only drug I’ve never tried. You’ve never done heroin?”

Hudson has never done heroin. In fact, she’s never done any drug.

The singer said: “I’ve never done anything, so that was hard to play this role. I’ve never had a drink in my life. I’m sober. I’m like, ‘Okay, this is new to me.’ Normally as as actor, you have things to pull from. I was like, ‘I don’t know what it’s like to feel any of that.'”

Handler, who has gained a reputation as a party girl, was a little shocked to hear that Jennifer Hudson was completely sober. But that’s something that the singer is used to.

Hudson said: “I’ve never been interested. Nobody ever believes it.”
