Bethesda offering prize to parents who name their baby ‘Dragonborn’

I’ve seen all sorts of crazy promotions from game publishers in my time, but this might take the biscuit. On November 11th this year, Bethesda Softworks will be releasing RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, sequel to the much-loved Oblivion. It’s probably going to be really good.

If, by some miraculous coincidence, you are also expecting the birth of your child that day, then Bethesda has a little offer for you: call your child ‘Dovahkiin’ (meaning ‘Dragonborn’ in the game’s fictional language), and you’ll get free Steam downloads of Bethesda games for the rest of your life and … other mystery prizes.

With any luck, those unrevealed prizes include enough hard cash to fund your widely mocked child’s shrink from early teenhood. More details here.
