Jennifer Aniston Reveals: Would Do ‘Friends’ Reunion, Was Asked To Step Out Of Cast Photos

Jennifer Aniston, star of the hit show Friends, has long since been America’s sweetheart. Aniston is also, arguably, the most successful alum of the show. But with all the talk surrounding her engagement and impending marriage to Justin Theroux, Jennifer, forever known as Rachel Green, dropped something of a bombshell: it almost never happened.

Say what?

Speaking at the Television Academy’s “An Evening Honoring James Burrows,” Aniston talked about how she would love to do a Friends reunion. But there’s a catch.

“I’d honestly go back to it if we could, I would,” Jennifer said.

But?

“I don’t think people would want to see us today.”

That’s a debate for others to take up. What’s more shocking is what comes next: Jennifer Aniston was actually the No. 2 pick for Rachel and Friends was actually the sixth pilot Aniston had shot at the time; Jen was signed on to play a role in Muddling Through when she auditioned for the role for which she’s best known.

“We took her in second position,” Burrows explained.

When Muddling Through fell through, they were able to use her. But until then, Aniston’s future as Rachel was still up in the air, causing her to be omitted from some promotional materials.

“I had to sit out when we were doing our cast photos,” Aniston told Us Weekly.

“When we were shooting the first grouping of cast photos in front of that fountain, I was asked to step out of a bunch because they didn’t know if I was going to be still playing Rachel,”

Just think, where would we be today without Jennifer Aniston, America’s Sweetheart? Where would Justin Theroux or Brad Pitt be today? Mind blown, right?
