Cee Lo Green Sexual Battery Case Reinvestigated By LAPD

The LAPD is reinvestigating a sexual assault case against Cee Lo Green.

Cee Lo — whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway — denied any and all wrongdoing after a woman accused him of putting ecstasy in her drink at a downtown Los Angeles restaurant last July. The woman said that when she woke up, she was lying in bed naked with Cee Lo in the room.

The woman was not a resident of California and did not report the rape at the time it alllegedly happened. When she returned to her home state, she reported it to her local police department, and they transferred it to the LAPD. She said the police had her make a “pretext call” to Cee Lo to get him to acknowledge the rape.

The victim claimed to have a recording of the rapper repeatedly apologizing and referring to MDMA, but he didn’t explicitly say that he put anything in her drink. Sources close to Cee Lo said he would have been arrested if the conversation had been recorded. They also said that MDMA is not known to knock people and make them oblivious to what’s happening around them.

According to TMZ, the LAPD submitted the case to the District Attorney, but prosecutors weren’t satisfied with the evidence and sent it back to police for further investigation. The D.A. wanted additional toxicology information on what, if any, drugs were in the woman’s system. Police are also looking for additional witnesses. They are expected to resubmit their findings to the D.A. “late this week or the following.”

A lawyer for Cee Lo Green previously said his accuser only went to police after hiring a civil lawyer and being denied in her request for money. Sources close to the woman said that her lawyer reached out to Cee Lo’s manager to see if he had any known STDs.
