Julianne Hough Comments Are ‘Hypocritical’ Says Mark Ballas

Julianne Hough is being called “hypocritical” by former partner Mark Ballas, after her comments on the popular reality TV show, Dancing With The Stars (DWS).

The controversy and now name calling stems from Ballas and Christina Milian’s number on Monday. Hough wasn’t too impressed and she let the pair know what their faults were.

There were moments where I felt like choreography-wise, I felt like it was two people dancing side-by-side rather than together,” she said after the couple performed for the judges. So I really want to see [Milian] shine. I’ve danced with Mark. You have to stand in front to make sure you’re seen.

And even though her observations were said to a laughing room, there seemed to be tension in the air and Mark Ballas was awkwardly trying to smile, if you can call it that.

Julianne Hough was a pro dancer on the show for five seasons and left after Season 8. She and Ballas are childhood friends, but now they find themselves on opposite sides of the issue.

This is what Ballas had to say about Hough’s comments:

The one comment for me that was a little funny is that I make it all about me… all the critiques were at me, and not at [Milian]. So I thought that was a little hypocritical comment. “I think [Hough] was very insightful tonight though and gave great tips on lines and how to express. We’ve had a lot of guest judges and I thought out of all of them she was one of the best. So that part, I love. I was the one who kind of got the heat, but you know what, that’s OK! It’s fine.

Julianne Hough came back as a guest judge on Monday and her comments about Mark Ballas and Christina Milian’s performance left some shaking their heads.
