Ghould Friend Short Unveiled As Disney Turns Goofy Into A Zombie

Disney, over the last six months, has been releasing a series of short cartoons that showcase its characters in a very different light.

On Tuesday, the newest video titled Ghoul Friend was released. In the video, Disney cartoonists have turned the lovable Goofy into a flesh-eating Zombie.

Ghoul Friend has been released just in time to celebrate Halloween, and its creepy scenes and zombie created Goofy are a great celebration of the monster and creature filled day.

In the four-minute clip, Mickey Mouse runs into a zombie-turned Goofy in a graveyard.

Because the cartoon clip was created by Disney, there is a happy ending that you’ll discover if you watch the clip (shown above).

In many ways, the clip matches the type of flow we have come to expect from The Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horrors episodes.

The Ghoul Friend short was directed by Spongebob Squarepants veteran Aaron Springer. He is also one of the masterminds behind Cartoon Network favorite Samurai Jack. His other big cartoon credit is Ren and Stimpy.

Ghoul Friend might seem a bit off base for Disney, but Goofy as a zombie is actually fun to watch and the flow of the short matches Disney’s historical feel for animated movies.

Do you think Disney has done a good job of identifying with a new audience? Would you watch a full movie with Goofy as a zombie?
