TR Knight, Boyfriend Marry In Private Ceremony

Amid all the drama lately, TR Knight of Grey’s Anatomy has quietly married his longtime boyfriend Patrick.

Few details about the wedding are available, but TR Knight and his now-husband reportedly tied the knot Friday — with at least one of his former Grey‘s co-stars in attendance.

The scant details of Knight’s nuptials are a strong contrast to the big show gossip emerging today, with one star detailing the events that led to the exit of former star Katherine Heigl.

According to Ellen Pompeo, who weathered a bunch of Grey‘s shakeups, the “drama” involving TR Knight being subject to a gay slur from former castmate Isaiah Washington led to the unrest amid the cast, and the actress dished:

“Hurt feelings, combined with instant success and huge paychecks started things spinning out of control. The crazier things got, as I watched all the tumult with Isaiah and then the Katie thing, I started to focus on the work. Maybe it is my Boston, blue-collar upbringing. I just tried to not pay attention to all the noise around me.”

Of Heigl’s exit, Pompeo said that the Grey’s star was seduced away by Hollywood glitz, and observes that the Knocked Up actress expected a bigger reception transitioning to film:

“When Katie left, it was tough… You could understand why she wanted to go — when you’re offered $12 million a movie and you’re only 26. But Katie’s problem is that she should not have renewed her contract. She re-upped, took a big raise and then tried to get off the show. And then her movie career did not take off.”

Pompeo added:

“Actors always think the grass is greener somewhere else. I didn’t want to do that. I have an amazing life. I have a house five minutes from the studio, I have a house in the Hamptons, a house in Malibu, a beautiful daughter whom I see every night, and it’s all because I didn’t leave Grey’s Anatomy.”

As for TR Knight, marriage isn’t the only thing he’s been up to lately — the former Grey‘s hunk is also starring as Mercutio in a production of Romeo & Juliet.
