Michael Strahan Competing With Bradley Cooper To Buy $25 Million NYC Penthouse

Michael Strahan is used to tough competition on the football field, but now that the NFL great has hung up his cleats he has some new rivals — other celebrities.

The host of Live with Kelly and Michael has reportedly been taking a very close look at a posh $25 million penthouse in New York where he would live with fiancee Nicole Murphy. But the sprawling home is also drawing some famous competition, with reports that actor Bradley Cooper has also been moving in on the home.

The penthouse would be a great fit for Michael Strahan. It’s just across the street from the ABC studios where he would film every morning, giving him a gentle commute to work. It’s also got plenty of room for him, with five bedrooms spread across 5,500 square feet.

The home has also been on the market for a few months, so if there’s a motivated seller Strahan may be able to make an offer and move in quickly.

There are plenty of famous neighbors in the building at 150 Columbus Avenue, which sports views of Central Park. It’s home to Eagles bassist Timothy Schmitt, MTV founder Bob Pittman, and one of Strahan’s colleagues — sportscaster Marv Albert. Regis Philbin, Michael’s predecessor on Live, lives just next door.

The building itself was part of a renovation in the mid-1990s that turned that corner of the Upper West Side from a dodgy neighborhood to a haven for the wealthy.

Michael Strahan would certainly have the money to cover the purchase. He’s worth an estimated $30 million, and in the past year turned in a nice profit from flipping his Bel Air mansion. Strahan and his fiancee bought the home for $7.9 million last year, and in August sold the home for $11 million.
