Wife Of Tony Romo Gets Plenty Of Airtime During Cowboys Shootout

Tony Romo played the game of his life, but it was his wife who stole much of the airtime in the Dallas Cowboys shootout loss to the Denver Broncos.

Romo set a Dallas Cowboys record, throwing for 506 yards and five touchdowns in a 51-48 loss on Sunday. But as good as Romo was on offense, the defense was just as terrible, allowing Peyton Manning to carve them apart and blowing several leads.

In the end it was a Tony Romo interception deep in their own territory that allowed the Denver Broncos to kick the winning field goal as time expired.

It was a game of ups and downs for the Cowboys, and they got to live vicariously through Candace Crawford, the model wife of Tony Romo. The camera seemed to find Crawford a number of times, catching her emotional reactions to the back-and-forth game.

Candace Crawford is the winner of the Miss Missouri USA competition in 2008, and she and Tony Romo were married the next year. The quarterback’s wife has been a popular figure on the internet, with scantily clad pictures from her pageants splashed online.

Candace is no stranger to the spotlight. Aside from husband Tony Romo, she also has another famous family member. Her brother Chace Crawford is known for playing Nate Archibald on Gossip Girl.

And Candace has some experience in front of the camera herself. After college she worked as a reporter for a local NBC affiliate, and covered the Cowboys on the CBS show The Blitz.

Tony Romo proposed to Candace at a celebration of her 24th birthday, almost exactly a year after he broke up with former girlfriend Jessica Simpson. Jessica rebounded well from the breakup, later getting engaged to former NFL player Eric Johnson.

If he can throw for a Dallas Cowboys franchise record whenever she’s featured, Tony Romo might want his wife showing up on television more often.
