Seth Rogen: ‘Sausage Party’ Probably Isn’t As Naughty As You Think

Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party probably brings some pretty naughty thoughts to mind especially considering Seth Rogen’s prior work. In fact, it’s practically existentialist. Philosophy, eh, Seth Rogen?

As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Seth Rogen’s This Is The End was shot down by Daniel Radcliffe because the screenplay “wasn’t good enough.”

Apparently, the idea behind Sausage Party was conceived by Seth Rogen, Goldberg, and Jonah Hill. You might expect the story to be about a group of lonely men, but in this case it literally is about an animated sausage that fell out of a shopping cart and is pondering the truth of its existence.

No, Seth Rogen isn’t joking about this one. Although, despite being animated by Dreamworks Animations, it’s likely to feature plenty of risque jokes. Seth Rogen will be writing the script for the Sausage Party along with Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir.

The rest of the story will focus on the rogue sausage banding together with other grocery items to journey through the vast wilds of the supermarket in order to get back to its proper shelf space by the time of a July 4th sale.

Hannah Minghella, president of production at Columbia Pictures, is pleased to be working with Seth Rogen on Sausage Party:

“We’re thrilled to be back in business with Seth and Evan. This project has all the irreverent, insightful and risqué R-rated humor we have come to expect from them. Matching their unique comic sensibility with an animated film is a fun and inspired idea. We are confident Seth, Evan, Conrad and Greg will deliver one of the most memorable animated movies of all time.”

What do you think about the idea behind Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party?
