Justin Bieber And Fans Psyched For ‘Heartbreaker,’ #MusicMondays

Justin Bieber is set to unleash his single “Heartbreaker” on October 6 at midnight. Teased since early June, the song will be the first to roll out from the teen singer’s #MusicMondays series where he will unveil a new track every Sunday at midnight over 10 weeks.

Following a Twitter countdown, the 19-year-old announced his new music campaign on Thursday, tweeting:

“Sunday Midnight #heartbreaker #MusicMondays #10weeks,” followed by an Instagram of the now familiar smudged purple heart on white artwork and a question, “Are you ready?”

Along with others in the singer’s camp, manager Scooter Braun joined the online action, tweeting, “Expect the unexpected.” #MusicMondays makes good on Braun’s September tweet which promised new music from Justin beginning October through to December.

Apart from brief seconds of “Heartbreaker” in Instagram videos and a mostly instrumental airing in the advert for Bieber’s latest fragrance The Key, the single remains a mystery — something of a feat in this age of leaks, although Ariana Grande has described her former tour mate’s new music as “next level.”

Ahead of Sunday’s reveal Justin changed his Twitter bio description, while reaching out to his over 45 million followers with a profile message that reads:

“#MusicMondays is about to begin – SO MUCH LOVE FOR THE FANS…you are always there for me and I will always be there for you. MUCH LOVE. thanks.”

And it appears to be working. Multiple online Justin Bieber fan sites are uniting behind a campaign to power “Heartbreaker” to number one with directives to fans to buy the single once it hits iTunes on October 7, call radio shows to request plays, and pass on those instructs to others.

The #Music Mondays cycle ends on December 9, dovetailing around the wrap of Bieber’s Believe world in Perth, Australia on December 8.

If the new songs are well received, momentum and press from the releases will add to the build-up to the Believe 3D movie-documentary slated to open this Christmas, as noted on Bieber’s brand new official website.

The Jon M. Chu-directed feature is the follow-up to 2011’s Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which Chu helmed. Speculation by some that the 10-week release series will culminate in a 2014 album from the Canadian seems pretty likely and would cap this year’s final quarter with media focus on Bieber returned to his music.

With an album set that could conceivably include contributions from producer-rapper Future, Tyler The Creator, R. Kelly, Wiz Khalifa, Rodney Jerkins, Chris Brown, Pharrell Williams, Big Sean and possibly others, Bieber’s Journals may well be something worth waiting for.

Currently in China on the Asia leg of his tour, Justin is scheduled to perform in Shanghai on October 5. One of the latest Instagrams from the teen singer revealed his own excitement for Sunday’s impending launch.

Are you looking forward to the premiere of “Heartbreaker?”
