‘American Horror Story: Coven’ Serves Up Stills From ‘B*tchcraft’, Plus Teasers [Video]
Hold on to your brooms because American Horror Story: Coven is almost here. If you have counted down the days until the third season’s October 9 opener, then you will be happy to know that American Horror Story: Coven has a few goodies for everyone waiting in anticipation.
American Horror Story: Coven is gearing up for a spooky new season, and to kick that off, FX has decided to release all new stills for their episode appropriately titled “B*tchcraft.”

The first episode is centered around Zoe (Taissa Farmiga) who discovered a strange and disturbing genetics in her bloodline. This affliction goes back to the days of Salem, where witch trials took place. Zoe is sent to the Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies, which is a school in New Orleans and is devoted to protecting the remaining descendants of said bloodline.
Fiona (Jessica Lange), a powerful witch, has returned to the town, and conjures up old revials and deadily enemies from the Coven using voodoo.
Jessica Lange has suggested that this season will be both light and dark, which is a turn from the previous season which delved deeper and deeper into the dark undertoe of an asylum and its patients that lived there. Most of the season is said to take place in the 1800s but will also have flash forwards, which is a structure the show has always played around with, even with each season rebooting storylines and plotlines.
The stills for “B*tchcraft” introduce the exciting new additions to the cast, including Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Gabourey Sidibe, and Angela Bassett. Returning after missing for season two is Taissa Farmiga, who was greatly missed during last year’s asylum season. Joining her for their third rounds of American Horror Story is Evan Peters, and Jessica Lange.
