Wonder Woman Short Film Hits The Internet, But Where’s The New Show? [Video]

A Wonder Woman short film recently took the internet by storm. This four-minute project begs the question: Why can’t Hollywood get the superhero back on her feet?

Although Ally McBeal creator David E. Kelley and the folks at CW previously attempted to get their respective reboots off the ground. Try as they might, neither party was successful in getting the character back on the small screen.

The Wonder Woman short film may have its share of problems, but the clip shows that the superhero could still kick all sorts of butt if she ends up in the right hands. If the CW is still serious about giving the character her very own show, perhaps they should give the boys and girls at Rainfall Films a call.

Network CEO Mark Pedowitz said earlier this year that the Wonder Woman TV series was reportedly headed in the right direction. Unfortunately, he revealed in July that the CW had recently placed the project on the back burner for the time being.

“Amazon is on pause [as] the script is not exactly what we wanted, and with an iconic character like Wonder Woman, we have to get it right,” he told Deadline.

One person who believes Wonder Woman deserves her own movie is The Avengers director Joss Whedon. During his recent chat with Entertainment Weekly, the filmmaker said the character probably wouldn’t work on the small screen.

“I don’t think she lends herself to television. I think she only works on an epic scale. I saw a bit of the David E. Kelley [pilot]. That was not a good marriage,” Whedon explained.

The Inquisitr previously reported that Chronicle scribe Max Landis is currently working on a Wonder Woman pitch of his very own. Although he isn’t sure if any studios will bite, that isn’t stopping the writer from giving the project his all.
