Houston Texans’ Fans Burn Matt Schaub Jersey

Houston Texan fans are tired of seeing Matt Schaub under center after he threw a critical fourth quarter interception in the team’s Sunday loss.

The Texans were leading the Seattle Seahawks 20-13 with 2:40 to go in the game, when Matt Schaub threw a ball that Richard Sherman grabbed and returned for pick six.

This marks the third time in three games Schaub has thrown a pick six. He will try to avoid throwing another one to set a league record next Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Behind Matt Schaub the Houston Texans are 2-2 on the year, and looking up at the Indianapolis Colts and the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South. Last season Houston went 12-4 to win the division, but lost to the Patriots in the divisional round of the playoffs.

To Matt Schaub’s credit, the Texans beat the Bengals in the wild card round of the playoffs, so it’s not like he didn’t put up a fight.

Still, Houston Texan fans are fed up, and they’re not afraid to show it. After the 23-20 loss to Seattle at home, a Texans fan posted a video someone burning a Matt Schaub jersey in the Texans’ parking lot.

The Video, which contains language not safe for work, probably won’t change head coach Gary Kubiak’s mind about who the team’s starting quarterback is. The truth is, Matt Schaub, whether you like him or not, gives the Texans the best chance to win.

At 2-2, it’s not time for the Houston Texans to start looking towards next year either. Matt Schaub, last three games aside, is a proven winner.

Fans burning jerseys is nothing new in sports, but it is a surprising to see happen when your team is still a legitimate playoff contender.

Do you think the Houston Texans should bench Matt Schaub?
