Julianna Margulies doesn’t want you to get your hopes up about a possible ER reunion movie. According to the actress, it probably isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
Although the acclaimed drama helped launch the careers of several notable actors and actresses, none of them seem interested in returning for a cinematic follow-up. In other words, don’t hold your breath that an ER movie is going to come together in the near future.
During her recent chat with Katie Couric, Julianna Margulies discussed the possibility of reuniting with former cast member George Clooney for the rumored motion picture. According to Zap2It, the actress currently has no plans to venture back into the emergency room.
The actress explained how the rumor got started:
“I’m doing a press tour for the show, for the Television Critics Association, and someone says, ‘Well, you know, so and so, ‘Buffy the Vampire’s’ doing a reunion movie and so and so’s doing a reunion movie. Would you and George ever do a reunion movie?’ And I go, ‘Well, that’s hilarious. No.'”
According to Julianna Margulies, the whole thing started out as a joke:
“However, we always used to joke about that we should have the Carol and Doug wedding because we never had one on the show, and tell Warner Bros. — who produced the show — that we wouldn’t take a paycheck, we would just take a back end, and the whole movie would just be this wedding. It was a joke, and then the next day, [it was] all over the Internet… We’re not.”
Created by Jurassic Park author Michael Crichton, ER hit the airwaves back in 1994. After enjoying a healthy 15-season run, the hospital drama came to a close in 2009. Fans of the actress can presently catch her in the drama The Good Wife.
Are you disappointed that Julianna Margulies and George Clooney probably won’t reunite for an ER movie down the road?
