Zac Efron Comes Clean After Rehab Stints And Substance Abuse Reports

It’s been a long few months for High School Musical star Zac Efron. Efron, who skyrocketed to teeny bopper fame in the musical franchise, recently underwent two rehab stints for a reported substance abuse problem.

Since the news broke of Efron’s substance abuse, Zac has been pretty quiet, and hasn’t addressed any of the rumors surrounding his two separate stays in rehab. On Friday, Efron broke his silence by posting a photo of himself on his Instagram page.

The photo shows Efron on top of Peruvian mountains, which are surrounded by the Machu Picchu ruins. The photo was captioned with a personal message that Efron left to concerned fans. The message reads as follows:

“Hey guys! Just returned from an incredible trip to Peru with my dad and wanted to thank you all for your support these past few weeks…means the world to me. Love you guys!”

There’s a reason why Efron fans are concerned as various rumors have floated since the news broke of Zac’s troubles. Reports of Efron’s heavy partying ways have surfaced, as it is believed he had a run-in with ‘hillbilly heroin” also known as oxycodone, coke, ecstasy, and enormous amounts of alcohol.

His abuse came to a head for the second time during filming for the Seth Rogen comedy, Neighbors, which recently wrapped. According to sources close to the production, Efron missed several days of shooting because of his ecstasy binges.

The issues stemming from Efron’s abuse have said to be from his problematic relationship with his “controlling” parents, and his disappointment over the direction of his career.

While Efron’s rep hasn’t denied the certain claims over Zac’s abuse, his rep simply commented that Efron is, ‘happy and no drinking.”

There is the saying that a picture does say a thousand words, and it appears that Efron is pretty content on his vacation. Hopefully this means his treatment worked.
