Isaac Redman Lied About Concussion To Play Week Two

Pittsburgh Steelers running back Isaac Redman claims he suffered a concussion during week two, but lied to to doctors in the locker room to stay in the game.

The Steelers, of course, refute the claim.

Isaac Redman says he suffered the concussion in the middle of the Steelers loss to the Bengals. After a big hit, he was taken to the locker room for medical evaluation and lied to his doctors about his symptoms. Shortly after he put his helmet on and got back in the game.

On Wednesday, Redman told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, “I had a concussion. I was pretty much out of it the rest of the game. I just tried to go back in.”

When asked why the Steelers medical staff would let him continue playing with a concussion, Redman, “I said I was all right.”

There you have it, Isaac Redman got a concussion, then lied to team doctors and passed multiple medical tests to get back in the game. Do you believe him?

The Pittsburgh Steelers don’t. In a statement given to Pro Football Talk, the team said, “Isaac was taken out of the game, and we announced that he was being evaluated for a concussion. He was then taken through the proper protocol by our medical staff and it was deemed he was cleared to return to action after multiple examinations. He then re-entered the game and saw action shortly thereafter and throughout the rest of the game.”

Players lie about concussions all the time in the NFL, it’s why teams are required to have certain medical personal on the sidelines at every game.

It sounds unlikely Isaac Redman actually had a concussion week two against the Bengals, especially since he practiced all week and then played in week three.

Do you believe Isaac Redman or the Steelers?
