Novak Djokovic Proposes To Longtime Girlfriend Jelena Ristic
Tennis superstar Novak Djokovic has finally popped the question to longtime girlfriend Jelena Ristic.
According to the Serbian media, where Djokovic hails, the number one tennis player in the world, proposed to his girlfriend over the weekend in the very posh spot of Monte Carlo.
Djokovic and Ristic have been together for eight years during which she has been seen supporting him through difficult times at the beginning of his rise to the top of the tennis world.
Jelena is known for her many facial expressions and is not afraid to show everyone how nervous or excited she is at a particular time in her fiance’s tennis matches.
This is in stark contrast to other significant others in the top ranking tennis world. Roger Federer’s wife, Mirka, is the stoic one, barely showing any emotion, no matter how tight the point is.
Kim Sears, British sensation Andy Murray’s girlfriend is a little more demonstrative, but not as obvious as Novak Djokovic’s woman.
The happy news was shared by the Serb on social media with a photo of the couple while Jelena planted a chaste kiss on his cheek and the caption that read, “Meet my fiancé and future wife. So happy! Thank you for wonderful wishes #NoleFam and friends!”
There have been false announcements in the past concerning the couple’s relationship status, but this time it is pretty much a sure thing with Djokovic’s post.
However, some suggestions that Andy Murray may be considered as best man, might be a bit premature.
The tennis star seems over the moon with the decision to finally make Ristic his wife. He also took to Facebook sharing that it’s proving hard to refer to her as his fiancee, instead of his girlfriend.
The couple is expected to get married sometime in 2014, no set date was announced by Novak Djokovic.
