Two Dead In Bolingbrook Plane Crash

UPDATE – It has been confirmed that two people have died as a result of the Bolingbrook plane crash that occurred late Wednesday afternoon.

According to ABC News, the Cook County medical examiner says the pilot has died a day after a small plane from Kentucky crashed into the parking lot of a Chase bank in Bolingbrook, Illinois.

The Chicago Tribune reported that the man, identified as a 63-year-old man from Kentucky, was pronounced dead at 5:45 am at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood.

The Inquisitr previously reported that another victim was found with the pilot who was believed to be the passenger in the plane.

The Chicago Tribune stated that the second victim was the man’s wife and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Reports are saying that the man was trying to land at Clow Airport when it crashed.

As stated before by The Inquisitr, the plane hit a tree, a light pole, and multiple cars before coming to rest in the parking lot before finally bursting into flames.

The Chicago Tribune reported Mike Gorhar, a witness to the Bolingbrook plane crash, saying, “We kept telling him to roll. He kept asking to get his wife out.”

Gorhar had been working next door when he heard the blast and ran outside, “My coworker said there’s somebody on fire.”

According to ABC News, The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said Wednesday night that the single-engine plane originated from Scott County Marshall Field in Georgetown, Kentucky.

Another witness, Connor Hale, was in his car just yards away when the plane crash landed in the Chase bank parking lot.

“Instantly I was shocked. I was shaking. I’m still a little shaken up. I mean, nothing like this ever happens. I mean, I’m still a little shaky even now,” said Hale.

The FAA and now the NTSB are still investigating the Bolingbrook plane crash at this time.
