Joseph Gordon-Levitt Isn’t Single And His Girlfriend Is A Secret, So Stop Asking

Bad news, ladies (and some of you men out there). Actor and heartthrob Joseph Gordon-Levitt is not single, and yes, he does have a girlfriend. Regrettably, aside from putting to bed some errant rumors about his sexuality, that’s about all you’re going to learn about his secret love life.

On SiriusXM’s Howard Stern Show on September 24, JGL revealed that he does, in fact, have a girlfriend, but that she’s not in show business, so stop asking.

“I have a girlfriend, but I tend not to really like to talk about it in public,” he said. “She is not in show business.”

He also talked a bit more in-depth about why he likes to keep his dating life under wraps, and really seems to hope this is the last time anyone asks him about it.

“I get up in movies and I play other people, so when the audience is watching me in movies, I don’t want them thinking about me and who I’m dating, and blah blah blah,” he said. “I want them to see the character, the story that I’m telling.”

This marks the first time the 32-year-old actor has talked about his dating life at all in a public forum. It also marks the end of a recent round of speculation about his sexuality. Just a few weeks ago, Out Magazine asked him to clarify his sexual preferences.

“That would be really tacky—they would win if I had to clarify,” he replied.

Anyway, there are a few other minor details about JGL’s girlfriend we gleaned from the interview. They met through “mutual friends,” and she wants to stay out of the limelight, too.

“The girl that I’m with, she really doesn’t want to be a part of it,” he said. “You can imagine not wanting to have that kind of scrutiny.”

Does he love her?

“Oh, jeez, man! Come on! This is getting private.”
