Jada Pinkett Smith Talks Divorce On Facebook

Jada Pinkett Smith handed out some friendly marriage advice on Facebook.

The actress recently made headlines after admitting that she suffered from addiction during her younger days. In addition to sharing that nugget of knowledge on the social networking site, the Jason’s Lyric star offered up some advice about marriage.

In the open letter to her friend, Jada Pinkett Smith said she has spent quite a bit of time discussing marriage with “elders” who have stayed with their significant others for over 25 years. The actress was apparently looking for some different perspectives about love and marriage.

She explained in the Facebook post:

“Almost all the couples have said that at some point in their marriage they have stumbled upon inevitably difficult moments that called for a break. I spoke to one couple who had a few years apart only to re-discover their desire to grow old together and to do what was necessary to continue to deepen their love for one another.”

The Low Down Dirty Shame star said she hoped the information she obtained from those with successful marriages would help her friend make the right decision.

Jada Pinkett Smith continued:

“My hope for you is this, that you consider taking the route that some of our elders have taken in giving your marriage some space and time before the drastic decision of divorce. Answers to big questions need time to find lasting truth vs the truth of the moment. After this process the answer may be the same, but at least you will have the clarity to go about it all with certainty and integrity, but you may also find that spark that could save and rekindle your marriage.”

The actress and her husband Will Smith made headlines not too long ago after reports suggested the two were getting a divorce. Although rumors made it seem as though the pair were on the outs, the couple is still together as of this writing.
