Laura Prepon Returning For ‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 2

Laura Prepon confirmed that she is returning for the second season of Orange is the New Black.

Rumors surfaced last month that Prepon wouldn’t be returning as a series regular, but would only return to tie up loose ends in her storyline. Netflix called the report “not accurate.”

Earlier this month, news broke that the That ’70s Show star is scheduled to return for one episode. It was also reported that Prepon had only signed a one-year contract and didn’t commit to more after that.

The 33-year-old told Us Weekly that she is definitely returning for the show’s second season.

“I don’t want to stop playing [Alex] because she is amazing,” Prepon said. “But I’m definitely coming back for season two, and it’s going to be awesome.”

She added, “The fan support for my character has just been above and beyond what we expected and it’s so appreciated.”

Laura Prepon also told Variety that she couldn’t say too much about the second season of Orange is the New Black.

“I know what’s happening, but I can’t spoil anything,” she said. “But I’m definitely coming back for season two. I know there’s a lot floating around, but I can’t wait to get back there. It’s exciting.”

In an interview earlier this year, Laura Prepon admitted that she was intimidated by her role as Alex Vause, the “drug importer” ex-girlfriend of main character Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling).

“When I read it, it was so good but I was like, ‘Wow, (the character) Alex scares me a little bit,’ which is exactly why I needed to do it and I’m so glad that I did,” she said. “I feel like every actress is always looking to (push the envelope) because the minute you get complacent, hang it up.”
