Andy Samberg And Joanna Newsom Marry In California

Funnyman Andy Samberg and singer-songwriter Joanna Newsom tied the knot yesterday, according to multiple sources.

Us Weekly confirms that the two married quietly in Big Sur, California on September 21 after five years of dating. Samberg, 35, shared vows with his 31-year-old fiancee at the Post Ranch Inn before a crowd of family and friends including Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel.

The former Saturday Night Live star popped the question back in February.

“He liked her music and would go to her shows,” a source told the mag at the time. “He had the biggest crush on her.”

“She respects what he does with his songs,” the source also said of his famous Lonely Island singles. “She’s so proud of everything that he has accomplished. They have great chemistry.”

Newsom, most famous on my playlist for the harrowing “Sprout and the Bean,” has been working in music for over 10 years, and is known for her collaborations with multiple artists including Smog, Vetiver, Nervous Cop, The Year Zero, Vashti Bunyan, Moore Brothers, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Golden Shoulders, and The Roots.

So is she open to collaborating with her new hubby on a Lonely Island hit?

“We’ve talked about [collaborating.] But we’ve decided ultimately that her fans would probably kill me in my sleep,” Samberg joked to Glamour in September. “What she does is so, like, actually beautiful and important.”

Congratulations to Andy Samberg and Joanna Newsom from the folks here at The Inquisitr! Oh, and don’t rush a collaboration, kids. We can wait. Also, “Sprout and the Bean,” the song I mentioned earlier? Here:
