Creationist Says Bill Nye Doesn’t Understand Science Because Of Beethoven, Or Something [Video]

While Bill Nye is off tearing up a rug on Dancing With the Stars, well-known creationists are busy trying to dress him down for being so arrogant as to think he can actually understand science.

First up to bat is Ken Ham, president, CEO, and founder of Answers in Genesis U.S. and the Creation Museum.

On Facebook, he wrote, “Bill Nye still doesn’t understand the difference between historical science and observational science — so he may be known as ‘Bill Nye the science guy’ — but he doesn’t understand science correctly. [Bill Maher and Nye] don’t want the truth — they continue to ‘suppress the truth’ as the Bible states in Romans 1 about such people in rebellion against God.”

Ham is referring to Nye’s recent appearance on Maher’s HBO show “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

We’re not going to wade into the controversial debate between creationism and science at all (but feel free in the comments), but we are going to say this: At least Ken Ham sounds reasonable… compared to Ray Comfort.

During his sit-down with Maher, Nye also referenced a 2006 appearance in Texas during which he was booed for simply pointing out that the moon reflects light… it doesn’t have any of its own.

Comfort talked about Nye on his daily web video program, “The Comfort Zone,” and accused the Science Guy of mocking the Bible.

“He mocks that, and yet you take out what moonlight is in the dictionary, and it says it’s the light of the moon,” Comfort argued. “The moon has light, it reflects the sun, (and) “Moonlight Sonata,” just lots of beautiful songs, the moon does.”
