Twitter acquires Values of n

Twitter has acquired Values of n, the company behind the email tools Skkiit and Sandy.

Twitter head Evan Williams said in a post to the Twitter Blog that the acquisition was part for the intellectual property, part to acquire the services of Values of n’s Rael Dornfest. Dornfest is a former Chief Technology Officer at O’Reilly Media and was an early participant in the emergence of RSS. Dornfest joins the Twitter team as an engineer.

Values of n clients though wont be happy with the deal: Twitter will shut down both Skikit and Sandy December 8. Williams notes that the technology behind the two may be used in future to improve Twitter.
