‘Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom’ UK Trailer Debuts

The first UK movie trailer for Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom has debuted. The movie is directed by Justin Chadwick and stars Idris Leba as Nelson Mandela and Naomie Harris as Winnie Mandela.

The film highlights Mandela’s early years, his education, and his 27 years held in captivity.

The movie is focused squarely on the dramatic parts of Mandela’s life and not the action-filled aspects.

The focus for the movies first UK trailer is placed squarely upon Mandela and Winnie’s relationship, and it’s accompanied by a typical Hollywood soundtrack.

Unlike the first American movie trailer, the UK trailer gives us a closer look at the makeup work used to age Idris and Naomie into older Nelson and Winnie roles.

The Weinstein Company will debut Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom in the USA on November 29.

Early reviews for the movie have been strong, and there is already talk of Academy Award nominations.

Also starring in the film are Tony Kgoroge, Riaad Moosa, Zolani Mkiva, Jamie Bartlett, Lindiwe Matshikiza, Deon Lotz, and Terry Pheto.

UK viewers will have to wait until January to see the movie.

Biopics are all the rage right now, and, based on reviews for the movie, this could be a must see feature for the end of the year.
