DJ Mister Cee Resigns Amid Scandal [Video]
DJ Mister Cee has resigned from Hot 97 amid a sex scandal. The Brooklyn native is accused of soliciting the services of a transgender prostitute.
During his on-air farewell show, Cee explained that he would prefer to resign as opposed to being fired. He further stated that his decision to leave was “right for the betterment of the station.”
As reported by Hip Hop Wired, the infamous DJ joined Hot 97 in 1993. He is credited with discovering several artists, including Notorious BIG.
Cee was rumored to have been fired. However, he insists that Hot 97 allowed him to resign.
The DJ admits that he made a mistake. However, he says “ain’t nobody perfect man.” Cee says he resigned to spare his family, friends, and colleagues, from the backlash.
As reported by Billboard, DJ Mister Cee’s problems began with an arrest in 2011. The DJ was found inside his car with a 20-year-old male prostitute. The two were reportedly engaging in a sex act.
Cee eventually plead guilty to a charge of loitering.
In May, Cee was arrested for approaching an undercover officer disguised as a prostitute. The arrest led to a temporary suspension from his job. However, the charge was eventually dismissed.
Following his second arrest, DJ Mister Cee appeared in a public service announcement for the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. In the PSA, he admitted to having a sexual addiction.
In the latest scandal, a video was posted on YouTube. The video reportedly contained a recording of an interaction between Cee and a transgender prostitute.
The arrests and PSA led to speculation about Cee’s sexuality. Although he admits that he enjoys spending time with prostitutes and strippers, he denies that he is gay.
In his final Hot 97 broadcast, Cee discussed his options for the future. He suggested the possibility of working for another station. However, he did not mention any specific offers.
He also plans to continue working in clubs.
DJ Mister Cee has resigned from Hot 97. However, he has no intention of giving up his passion for DJing and music.
