Ubisoft Announcements Include ‘Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon’ Box Edition, ‘Watch Dogs’ Mobile App

Some new Ubisoft announcements include news on Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon and the Watch Dogs mobile app.

Ubisoft made several announcements last night, a couple of which had to do with the Assassin’s Creed series, as previously reported by The Inquisitr. Assassin’s Creed: Pirates and Liberation HD are on their way in their respective platforms.

Another one of Ubisoft’s announcements involved the possibility of a boxed edition of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The DLC standalone game had next to nothing to do with Far Cry 3, but instead of a spinoff, Ubisoft went with a parody on the first person shooter genre, complete with a tutorial that practically makes fun of itself. It seems that Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon has sold over a million copies, and Ubisoft may be considering a box copy soon. Apparently they needed to make sure the 80s game made with today’s graphics would actually sell well enough to commit to a physical disc.

In the same announcement, Call of Juarez: Gunslinger was also mentioned, though we can’t be sure if it will also get the possible box copy.

There was also an announcement on Ubisoft‘s blog concerning the Watch Dogs mobile app, which will reportedly be able to ruin someone’s day in multiplayer if they’re playing simply the console version. These multiplayer scenarios will be fast-paced races from point A to point B, and the mobile app will be able to “hack” into the cTOS system in the game’s futuristic Chicago, much like game protagonist Aiden Pearce normally would in the single player mode, and cause mayhem to stop other players from reaching their goals.

Apparently the Watch Dogs mobile app won’t require you to own the game itself, but you can still mess with multiplayer games as you cause traffic jams, draw police attention to players, and so on to ultimately ensure nobody wins.

Ubisoft’s announcements could mean exciting things for gamers everywhere.
