Russell Brand Booted From GQ Awards Over Nazi Joke [Video]

Russell Brand was reportedly kicked out of the GQ Awards after making a really inappropriate joke.

The comedian received an award at GQ UK’s Men of The Year ceremony last week. Since Brand is known for his off-kilter sense of humor, he thought it would be fun to mention that event sponsor Hugo Boss used to make a ton of money crafting uniforms for the Nazis.

After making a joke about Syria and GQ’s name, Russell Brand decided to give everyone in attendance a quick history lesson. Although the comments got a few laughs out of those the crowd, apparently not everyone was thrilled with his routine.

“Any of you who know a little bit about history and fashion will know that Hugo Boss made the uniforms for the Nazis. And the Nazis did have flaws, but, you know, they did look f***ing fantastic, let’s face it, while they were killing people on the basis of their religion and sexuality,” he joked

Since the folks at Hugo Boss were sponsoring the event, organizers weren’t exactly pleased about the topic of conversation. As a result, Russell Brand was booted out of the after-party. Judging Brand’s reaction, it’s doubtful he’ll be losing any sleep over the situation.

Shortly after the comedian was asked to leave, he issued a tweet that recounted his conversation with GQ magazine editor Dylan Jones. Brand may have offended a few people with his Nazi joke, but he really doesn’t seem to care.

You can find his tweet on the matter below. As you can tell, the folks at GQ probably won’t be getting an apology.

A video featuring the comedian’s comments at the awards ceremony can be found below. Since the clip contains quite a bit of foul language, viewer discretion is strongly advised.
