Apple has announced that they have officially shipped more than one million units of their popular Apple TV. A company spokesperson confirmed the news, stating that the milestone sales mark was reached on Saturday.
At one million units sold, that means the Apple TV brand is increasing sales at 330,000 per month, still behind their iOS-based devices, but not a bad start for a relatively new market. To put their numbers into comparison, Roku will take nearly two years to reach the same mark.
A larger portion of sales are credited with the company’s price drop to just $99 and the systems added support for Netflix, while promises of long-term additions such as AirPlay have been made by Apple.
Are you one of the more than one million Apple TV users? If so why did you choose to buy the system?
